Hello everyone, I am a German university student who wants to switch to UMPI and I have some credits from that time. I also have a university prep diploma from my highschool that has some classes that could be seen as equivalent to AP classes (German abitur that also took 13 years of highschool) How would these classes influence my GPA at UMPI. Do they account for transfer classes too? Is it on the transcript? Or do they just count the classes taken directly with UMPI?

For the institutional GPA, only the classes that are actually completed at UMPI will count. However, if you continue on to grad school, the grad school might want to calculate your GPA based on all credits that are on your transcript. This includes the German credits (if they transfer), UMPI, and Sophia or Study.com percentages that get translated into grades for a GPA.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Your credits from Germany will need to be evaluated by WES in order to transfer to UMPI. It may not be worth the cost or time since Sophia is very inexpensive and you could complete several courses on there before the evaluation is even completed. The only courses that are included in your GPA at UMPI are courses completed at UMPI. However, your true GPA is comprised of all of the courses you've ever taken anywhere. This is what many grad schools use when admitting students.

Thanks to both of you for the helpful replies. I will just start with Sophia courses then ^^
