This may be a bit obscure, but I'd like to gather the opinions of you all on the matter. My wife is General Manager at a restaurant and she makes $75k+bonuses right now. She has 4 years left on her contract and at that time she can either renew or move on.
She loves her job and she's great at it, however, it's hard on her body, and the hours suck, so we are leaning towards the moving on option. She is 4 classes away from a general AA degree and she has an interest in I/O psychology and computers. She is great at problem-solving, performing under high pressure, and fantastic with people as well as likes variety and a challenge, etc.
We have talked about her going back to school and finishing her degree, however, the starting salary for a lot of jobs that she has considered is well below what she makes now. Hence why I am here crowdsourcing options we can look into. What she would ideally like is a 40-hour workweek where she isn't on her feet all day and something she isn't bored to tears with that makes at least 80k to start. What would you suggest we look into?

My husband is in a similar situation. He’d probably love to find a job like hers. He’s in law enforcement. His pay is what keeps him where he is. He works third shift, 12 hour shifts and often works holidays… including Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving.
Hopefully she finds something she will love, but it may involve a pay decrease.

Oddly enough, this isn't something we've considered. Thanks for the idea!

Since she has experience as a General Manager, I would shoot for the Associates/Bachelors combo quickly and jump into a different management position, it doesn't have to be in "IT" if you do not have any IT experience, other type of management positions will work as well... I would highly recommend finishing your education and shoot for a management position in an Industry you like.
How about Distribution, Storage, or Transportation Manager, it topped UofPeople's list, further to that, this list is for those without a degree, you should get similar results for those with a degree. You may want to do a search on Bing, Google, or Yahoo... there are plenty similar to this UofPeople's Link: https://www.uopeople.edu/blog/highest-pa...-a-degree/
The Associates is going to be the new "high school diploma", a Bachelors is the new "Associates" and well, the Masters degree will soon be the new "Bachelors". People are getting educated...you should at least get that AA done and get started on the Bachelors promptly. If possible, get a management position that also has 'education' perks for tuition assistance/reimbursement.

UMPI has a Supply Chain Management degree: https://online.umpi.edu/programs/ba-busi...ement.aspx
TESU has BSBAs in Org. Management, Operations Management, and Computer Information Systems (CIS would pair nicely with IT management): https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/Current/...s/Overview
Peirce has a degree specifically in Technology Management: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Peirce_College
Purdue Global has Healthcare Administration. Purdue has a LOT of writing, so this wouldn't be the easiest degree to get. But I would check out job listings for Healthcare Administrators in your area. It looks like, in some areas, starting pay is only ~$50k while other areas have a starting salary of nearly $100k.
Also, if she's 4 classes away from an AA, you might want to consider going for the FREE Pierpont degree for now. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC I would probably suggest taking the Google Project Management certificate for a quick way to get to 60 credits: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera If she (also) did the IT Support Professional certificate, she'd be at (or close to) an Information Systems Area of Emphasis.

Another option is Excelsior College, as they will accept 113 credits for transfer into their Bachelors, I would recommend them as a competency based education degree might or might not be suitable due to the number of hours/time you can spend on the degree during the day/night. I recommend Excelsiosr for max transfer and/or UMPI for CBE. You may also want to complete and answer questions in this thread template: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

Tell her to earn a degree in any field and start earning Salesforce certifications. Salesforce careers are HIGH PAYING, and you can complete the certifications online for free. I know a guy right now in his mid-twenties who earned his Salesforce Admin certification. He's now earning $130K working from home. There's a strong demand for people who know Salesforce.
