Help with last few credits for TESU Associates
#1
Hi all. I'm hoping for some help to figure out the best way to finish the last few credits for my associates through TESU. More specifically, I need to know where the credits I already have will fit in TESU's latest set of requirements, which areas I still need credits in and hopefully ideas on where to get those credits.
I had an evaluation done about 2 years ago to see where my community college classes would transfer but the requirements have changed since then so I'm not sure where they'd fit.

From evaluation:
(English 101)-> ENC-101
(Survey of Sociology)-> SOC-101
(General Biology)-> BIO-111
(Chemistry)-> CHE-111
(Survey of Anatomy & Physiology)-> BIO-210
(Human Anatomy & Physiology I)-> BIO-211

Overages-> 1.98 semester hours

Since then I have taken and passed the following:

ALEKS:
College Algebra
Intermediate Algebra
Geometry
Introduction to Statistics

Shmoop:
U.S. History: 1492 - 1877
U.S. History: 1877 - Present
Literature in the Media

The Institutes:
Ethics and the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct

CLEP:
Intro to Psychology

DSST:
Intro to Computing

Thank you in advance for any help!

I'm happy to do a TESU AA degree plan for you, but I'm not going to recommend that you get it. With the $2,000 residency waiver, it's just too expensive. There are some better options for you: 1) COSC's AA, 2) EC's AA (actually I have no idea on this, but it's worth a shot), 3) http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...bog-3.html

I personally think $3,000 (additional to what you've already done) is too expensive. I know the WVNCC degree is going to be cheaper for sure. KayV knows a lot about this one (and I think a few others on here know as well).

I can't provide degree plans for you with the other 3, but I would look into them before going with TESU.

This advice is for an AA, by the way, not the BA. The BA comes out to be a good deal.

Thanks!
I've looked into it a bit and am still wondering how my credits would fit into the plan at WVNCC. I haven't been able to find specifics on which classes/areas are part of their required 21 core credits.

Here you go. The short version is that you would need either English Comp II or Business Communication, then 12-15 more credits of anything. ALEKS Geometry is not ACE-approved, and I'm not sure if they would approve Intermediate Algebra as an elective.

People here have reported success in getting the 3-credit residency waived. I would go ahead and get all 60 credits done before applying for it.

Great! That means you will need three elective hours less. I forgot to mention the TEEX Cybersecurity series as a possibility for 6 free credits.
