Help with BALS plan
#1
This site and the people on it are amazing!! Seriously, you all rock.  Big Grin

Would someone be willing to help me put the courses listed below into a spreadsheet for BALS?
Also, I am also wondering what qualifies for a UL in Liberal Arts on Study.com?

I'm assuming you're looking at TESU.  You have many of the core courses completed through study.com already for a BSBA vs the BALS, so you may want to look into that as an option.

First, with ALEKS, you need to get 70% on an assessment (blue line), so working through the course to 70% (green line) won't help (except that you get the knowledge needed to pass the assessment).

Second, some of the courses you've taken don't fit well into a BALS - it seems like you looked at the BSBA degree, then started working on it, and then decided to switch to a BALS.  Like, you don't need any additional math if you don't want to take it for the BALS.  But I will make you a BALS degree and a BSBA to see which one you like better.  You will lose some credits it you were to go to the BSBA.

Third, UL BALS courses at Study.com:
BUS 313: Organizational Communication (COM-391)
ENGL 305: Advanced Technical Writing (ENG-306)
CJ 305: The Juvenile Justice System
HIS 306: The American Civil War Era (HIS-450)
HIS 308: Causes & Effects of the Vietnam War (HIS-351)
HIS 311: The Holocaust and WWII (HIS-354)
PSY 301: Industrial/Organizational Psychology (PSY-401)
Psy 310: Psychology of Personality
PSY 312: History & Systems of Psychology (PSY-400)
COMPSCI 302: Systems Analysis & Design (CIS-321)
COMPSCI 303: Database Management (CIS-311)
BUS 303: Management Info Systems (CIS-301)

Finally, let me mention that there is a 90cr limit on the number of courses you take at one place, and you're at 48cr now for Study.com, so just watch out for that.

Thank you for your reply! I didn't realize about the 90 credit limit. I will keep that in mind.

I am trying to finish a degree as quickly as possible. Which path do you suggest for doing that with what I have? I just need a degree, it doesn't matter in what. From what I can see, I am closer on the BALS, but I am not sure if I am reading it wrong!

Also, for the UL, I have only used study.com and Aleks for credit at this point and am not familiar with the others. Is there one that you prefer for UL courses?

Thanks again!

You are closer to the BALS. I would use Study.com for UL credits if you're familiar with them. There are other options (I think DSST exams is a favorite on here), it just depends on whether you would rather test or take a course.

You should be aware the ALEKS's ACE accreditation expires the end of this month. If you hit 70% before then, you're fine, but if you go after the 31st and ALEKS doesn't renew, you've lost your effort.
