Hello guys, here my first TESU evaluation (I will update as I earn credits)
- Would like recommendations for which Sophia courses will fill in GE and Electives.
- Need help to see where all these certs will fill in. I know there are tons of overlaps.
- I will be doing 2 semesters at TESU starting in either Sep or Dec 2023. I need help in picking the best/easiest courses to take directly with TESU.
- Are there any addon certificates I can tag on to this degree? Maybe business or data science or cybersecurity? Should I consider Pierpoint bog associate to apply all those certs to instead?
Certificates and courses that are not yet reflected in Evaluation:
Comptia A+
Comptia Network+
Comptia Security+

I know people are going to ask "Why so many courses at TESU?" If I recall correctly you're doing this due to maximize financial aid opportunities available to you - is that correct?
Here is the wiki for the Sophia / TESU Equivalency - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/So...lency_List

@teerockus, You should review your previous thread and get the spreadsheet up, you need 1 column, courses required for the BACS/BSBA CIS and remove any duplicates if any by reviewing the WIKI plans. Just wondering how you're paying for the two semesters? Are you following through with the previous suggestions in your original first thread?
I mentioned you can take the flat rate by doing the 12 credits, if you do two semesters of 12 credits, you'll have a minimum of 24 credits to max the financial aid in addition to whatever the NJ Garden State Guarantee gives you. If you do the 12 credits, you can add an e-pack exam free! Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...te-fin-aid

I think most of your certificate credits will wind up in electives, so you can ignore those for now. But see

https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...ience_Plan
And then to see what the certificates should come in as: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera
Do you have RA credit already? Is that where your transfer credit comes from?

For General Ed, your Scientific Knowledge should be completed with your cert transfers. Same for Free Electives.

If you do 3 courses, you can throw in 2 epacks to lighten your load during a flat-rate term.

Since I have all those certs, I am contemplating applying for the Pierpoint Associates after knocking out gen ed classes at Sophia. Does that make any sense at all? I don't plan to attend TESU until end of September or even December. Does that hurt my degree plan in anyway?

No, it does not hurt your TESU plan. I would even say it's a practical plan - as their is no downside to it. Just plan out the Pierpont AAS using Sophia courses that work with your TESU degree plan, that should be pretty easy do do. Having earned an associate degree does not impact your eligibility for financial aid, only an earned bachelor degree does that (so you're all good getting the BOG AAS).

It does make sense to get the Pierpont degree, yes. But do you have any RA credit?
You'll need at least 30 RA credits to get a TESU degree. 6 of those need to come from the cornerstone and capstone. Another 9 credits beyond that establishes residency. Which leaves you with 15 RA credits that need to come from TESU classes or elsewhere. Sophia, SDC, Coursera, etc. are not RA credit. RA credit is credit from an actual college or university.

@teerockus, for 15 RA credits, you can take the cheap online community college courses (or even free if you get one of those free semesters at any college) or if you like exams, TESU's very own TECEPs. You need an action plan and a spreadsheet to document everything as a reference point and also use it for tracking your progress. Continue on with the certs, degree, experience trifecta...

FYI - the OP ( teerockus) already has at least 27 RA credits, they listed them in their original post when looking for a plan - https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...te-fin-aid
