Help me design my company's new tuition reimbursement program!
#11
One thing I've noticed about my company's tuition reimbursement is that they expect to reimburse PER CLASS, which doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room for competency based programs like WGU. It seems I'm the first one at the company to attempt this type of program. Something to keep in mind ;-)

I think WGU has some type of work-around on this type of tuition reimbursement program.  4-yr state schools also don't always have a per-class price; most businesses have a way to deal with those I think.

They do, but if Noda is designing a program from the ground up, might as well keep that in mind as well :-)

WGU does a good job of getting around this but doing a "course cost breakdown" for employee reimbursement. My company took no issue with it. Patten did an even better job at this, but ti was a little deceptive. They made it look like you only paid for the first two courses you completed and then gave you a receipt for the full term amount for those two courses. worked very well for my company. I think in general schools know the importance of tuition reimbursement and they're designing these new systems around it somewhat.

I heard about the course breakdown from a coworker. I'm planning on knocking out 25ish CUs in October and hoping to be able to get the full $3500 reimbursed based on that.

I saved a copy of my course cost breakdown after I finished 4 courses each term so that it looked "normal." Turning in 32 CUs would probably seem suspicious. I basically did what Patten does.

Both Excelsior College (Federal Gov't and GE) and TESU (UPS) have corporate partnerships with 20% Reduce tuition reimbursements and fees.

They are vetted members of the Big 3 (aka the Three Kings of alt credits).

Both have Nursing degrees and many other degrees.

Please also add paying for certification exams like the PMP, etc. that are very useful in your hospital system.

Let folks go to any university.  Harvard Extension, local CC, or ASU etc.  It may take them longer, but many folks can only handle one course at a time anyways working full time.

So they only charge $5000/year for 30 SH?
