Looking to get a degree to get my CFP

Edit to Add: apparently, you have a third account, and a previous thread already in addition to the two that was merged.  It's going to really confuse people trying to help you.  You're going in all directions just to get started. It's easier for you and the people volunteering to help you if you are honest and not cheating yourself.

Here's your first thread: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Where-to-attend
I'm not quick to ban people, but I've seen other moderators do the banning of multiple accounts.

Wow, 3.

People here have some good memories. Lol.

I did merge the threads.

Ha, I actually just saw the original thread a day ago when it was linked in a different thread by the OP, that's why I noticed the resemblance right away. To the OP, I wasn't trying to be mean or call you out on the similar threads, just figured it might be better to specify if there was something in particular that you didn't get from the original thread, so people responding to the new thread could narrow it down.

Exactly LOL. I remember just giving OP suggestions about SNHU, ASU for CFP and forget about UW-Parkside on another thread. CFP exam eligibility can only be satisfied by CFP board-registered schools not just ANY business degree. There are very specific courses that OP needs to take and the last thing he wants is to shell out an additional $10-15K and 12-18 months as CFB deemed his "easy, fast and somewhat-known" business degree as not good enough
How fast can one accelerate the ASU/SNHU program?

CFPhopeful Wrote:Hi! Given your knowledge, I thought I'd seek advice. I'm undecided on schools and considering options that leave room for a different master's program. Speed is a priority, and a CFP registered program is a HUGE incentive. Someone suggested SNHU and ASU. Do you know of other universities with this program and how feasible is it to expedite SNHU's/ASU finance degree using platforms like Sophia or Study?

Hey, got your private message, I'll just post it here so other senior members or moderators can answer the question, patience is a virtue, your last post was just yesterday... I'll give it some time before I answer as I don't really know where you're stuck at until I review your previous posts... There's a few posts from your other accounts that may have some extra info not in this thread.

BTW, you may have missed or skipped my post (the one LevelUP quoted in post #21). Did you get the admin/webmaster to see which account you want to keep? There really isn't a need to have more than one for each person... Especially when you have different pieces of info in each account, I'll review more and give you a detailed answer on what options are best for your choice in school.

You can't accelerate at these programs but still can be done pretty quickly (relatively)....why the rush? You arent even mid 20s. My buddy took his time as a CFP, went to a top 20 MBA, gained clients, and now clears 250k in his early 30s. You arent going to replicate that by rushing.

Just chill and do it the right way by attending a CFP approved program.

Yea I get your point, the only reason I’m “rushing,” is cause I’m trying to get married soon

Once you transfer in 90 credits, an SNHU degree can be done in 8 or 10 months, depending on if you take 2 or 3 courses per term after the first couple of terms, in which you can only take 2 classes.

You can also transfer in credits after you start SNHU so if you get close, it may be a good idea to start rather than missing a term start date if you get close to max transfer.

There is a specific degree plan for the Finance degree here

ASU will probably take you over 2 years to complete and cost 20k+ as transferring in alt credits will be difficult and you will have to take more courses at ASU. You will have to degree plan on your own.

Why does marriage cause you to rush anything?  I saw rushed marriages and career choices all the time in the military. Many failed spectacularly.

I'd say ASU is a big step up from SNHU, but yeah, it's an option. I felt ASU classes had much more substance and the name carries more weight.

But OP wants his cake and to eat it too.
