Help, UMPI Transcript Evaluation Errors

I received my transcript evaluation from UMPI rather quickly. Overall, they do a better job than some universities but there are at least two errors. I have attached the evaluation as a pdf and would be grateful for advice on how to proceed. 

Most Sophia partner universities accept Sophia's Principles of Finance and Principles of Management as 300 or 400 level courses. ACE recommends them for 3 upper-level credits each. UMPI treats Principles of Finance as a 1XX elective. Principles of Management is transferred as Introduction to Business, a 1XX course. This is ironic because Sophia's Introduction to Business should transfer as Introduction to Business at UMPI. Instead, it is classified as a 2XX business elective.

I am uncertain if my other courses are transferred correctly to meet UMPI's additional degree requirements and would appreciate any suggestions. I had hoped to obtain UMPI's Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration – Management & Leadership Concentration by taking exactly 10 courses at UMPI. Based upon my transcript evaluation that does not appear possible. How many courses would I need to earn the BABA?

Would I be better off pursuing the BLS with Management minor or obtaining the Pierpont AAS and switching to the BAS at UMPI? I am hoping to obtain an MBA in the future if the degree type matters.

Spend some time deciding with the help of the academic advisors at UMPI, they'll look at this further for you and it's really up to you to decide which way you want to go. BAS, BLS, BABA M&L or even the BABA PM&IS would work, I would do the UMPI MAOL and take the 3-4 classes that can go towards that degree...

After careful examination, it appears the BABA is out of reach. The BLS appears to require 8 upper level courses at UMPI. I might need more than two lower level courses to fulfill UMPI degree requirements requiring more than 10 courses at UMPI to earn the BLS. The BAS looks achievable however I'm uncertain about the meaning of "Minimum of 40 credits in a technical field", http://catalog.umpi.edu/preview_program....turnto=120 The only subject I have more than 40 credits in is business. Does UMPI consider business a "technical field"? If so, would Pierpont accept my 40 credits in business towards their AAS? I'm scheduled to start UMPI in 6 weeks. Is it possible to get an AAS issued by Pierpont in that time?

Business is not a technical area. So having an AAS in Business AOS would not qualify you for a UMPI BAS.

Business is not a technical area. So having an AAS in Business AOS would not qualify you for a UMPI BAS.

Correct! An AAS in Business does not allow for admission into the BAS. I speak from experience. I have an AAS in Business Administration and flat out told no even though the catalog at that time said business administration courses counted. 


As far as the transfer credit, it doesn't matter what most or other colleges do when it comes to transfer credit. It only matters what UMPI does.

And for the finance course....I don't think it's ever transferred to UMPI as a UL course. I had to take BUS325 at UMPI shortly after this course came to Sophia. The Sophia course doesn't even come close to the amount of material covered in the course at UMPI.

Not sure why you feel the BABA is out of reach - seems like a good evaluation, with a few items that you could add before starting.

If you are aiming for the technical credits, your best bets are the TEEX freebies and the Google certificates for the sheer number of credits.
