Hello,
I will be done soon with my LL testing, in planning my UL and going through
the BS LA requirements at Excelsior, they ask for 6 in Nat. Science and Math on the graphic chart in their catalog. 2 of those have to be math.
I read a little further in the catalog and it does not mention a Nat. Science requirement.
Am I confused or just hoping I do not have to take Bio. or Nat Sc.
Is there an alternative test in case I do need Nat. Sc. credits?
I have been looking for specific feedback but it is still not clear.
Help !
Thanks

Cleps: Biology, Calc, Chemistry, College Algebra, College Math, Nat Sci, Precalc.
Dantes: Astronomy, College Algebra, Environment and Humanity, Physical Geology, Physical Science, Statistics
The above tests will count for the Nat Sci/Math category at Excelsior.

e4tango,
The requirement is only that you have at least 6 credits in Math OR Natural Science....and at least 2 of those credits MUST be in Math.
What this means is that you can make up those 6 credits with any combination of Math and Nat Sci, as long as you have those 2 required math credits.
For example, to fulfill the Math and Nat Sci requirements, you could take:
- 6 Math credits or
- 4 Nat Sci credits + 2 Math credits or
- 3 Nat Sci credits + 3 Math credits or
- 5 Math credits + 1 Nat Sci credit.
Hope that helps,
Snazzlefrag
My name is Rob

Thanks everybody for the generous feedback!.
This clears a lot, I am planning to take a class for the math requirement and I'll look into Envir. and Humanity.
While I am on the subject I would like to ask if Dantes Business Math will fulfill the credits needed and, also what kind of Math is good enough for the requirement? What's Here's to your Health considered?
I am going over the offerings at my Comm. College and I do not want to get in over my head since it has been 30 years from my last math course, I want to take what's absolutely needed and no more.
I just applied to Excelsior but it takes 3 or 4 weeks before I can discuss how to proceed. While I wait I am getting ready for the next batch....
Am Government, Civ War and Reconstr., Am Lit and Found of Education...
As always, Thank you!

Sorry, I can't answer which Math tests fulfill Excelsior's 2 credit Math requirement. I was lucky enough to take a Calc I class four times before I passed.
To pass along some other excellent advice I received from the board.....did you already take Analyzing and Interpreting Literature? If not, I would definitely take that instead of American Lit. From what others have indicated, American Lit is a bear, while A&I Lit is almost a guaranteed pass with little to no prep. Either way, they are both 6 credit LL Humanities tests.
