TLDR: Again, by using alternative ACE credits, go for a Local college dual enrollment AA/AS, ladder that up to an undergrad TESU degree, then a master's at WGU.  Voila!  Be done at 19...

I don't think they take SDC credits, but they do take (some) CLEP credits. If she can finish everything in a semester, it'd be less than $2k. It would probably still be better for her to go straight to a Bachelor's degree, but if she's set on an Associate degree, then this isn't a bad option.

I spoke directly with the guy in charge of this program in early 2021, and they not only accept ACE, they also take NCCRS credits.  The only issue is that they don't publicize how the credits come in.

Now, I am not sure that they still take these - I haven't spoken to him since then, and he was going to work with the registrar to publicize both CLEP and DSST credit, which they still haven't done.  So I don't know.  But it certainly can't hurt to ask about it.

They are also more flexible than the degree looks to be.  They kind of "did a TESU" in that instead of saying they needed "a natural science w/lab for 4cr", they instead just put the course they offer, "Chemistry w/Lab."  I really wish schools were better at saying what the actual requirement is rather than putting their course in there, but it is what it is.  But I did specifically ask about this, and was told that they would accept a different lab science for that requirement.

They specialize in homeschoolers in UT/CO/ID, and the guy was extremely nice and helpful in answering all of my questions.  So there's that.

Have you checked with local community colleges about ACE courses? At 18, the options are bit more limited than someone who's 20. Why only an associate degree? Why not just go for a bachelor's degree?

Unfortunately, the local CCs and Universities here accept 0-6 CLEP and nothing else. The AA is because she is still young. It is our hope that once she has her AA, she will be motivated to continue on to getting her BA.

Which state are you in again? There are so many CC/Univ in border states that offer AA/AS to high schoolers and even homeschooling students. You can get the AA/AS almost for free with dual enrollment and alternative credits combined...

California.    Most won't take ACE or CLEP.  Some require Teacher's permission for young HS students. Not all have classes offered online, which is why Study.com is so convenient. Bottom line, we are looking for a school to transfer those study.com unit to at 18.

Excelsior should work. I would look at Sophia and lawshelf too. Very cheap.

CA has free Dual Enrollment while in high school, all CC's accept TONS of CLEP exams (I think there's a 30cr limit, not 6cr), and then free or cheap CC after HS graduation.  If it were me, I would be planning an AA at one of the CC's.  It will most likely cost you nothing.

It actually does not.  CA has free DE in the entire state, and if your local CC doesn't offer online courses that you want, you can find a different one (or more):

Also, by state law, you must be allowed to use CLEP exams in CC's (and most will also allow DSST exams), although DSST exams don't transfer (or aren't accepted) by the CSU-system schools; CLEP is accepted at every CSU-system school, although they won't all accept every exam, so you need to do your homework.  The CSU-system schools allow 30cr of CLEP max, and 70cr of CC max for most (this would include CLEP).

The UC-system schools will not take CLEP.
