Hey folks, I'm sorry if this has already been covered, but it's just a slog trying to find the info I need from going through pages and pages of previous threads.
Question: After applying to the Pierpont BOG AAS program and they evaluate all of my transcripts and scores, if I end up falling a few credits short of what I need (say, 57/60 credits total) will I still be able to submit more credits to finish up without too much extra hassle (like having to pay Pierpont tuition)?
Background: So as I said in my previous thread, I'm trying to plan out the courses and exams that I want to take for my Pierpont degree (which will then lead into my WGU program). I'm wondering if anyone has run into issues being admitted to the BOG program but with required credits remaining instead of having everything already done. Like I said, I still need all 12 RA credits, but I do have a number of NA credits and if Pierpont will count any of those (or my IT certifications, or my one AP exam) toward the remaining 48 necessary, I wouldn't want to double up unnecessarily.
Anyway... I plan on completing as much as possible from the credits I know that I need and then submitting all of that, plus my NA transcript, AP scores, and IT certs. Would I still be able to submit more credits after the initial evaluation, if necessary?

Pierpont won't take NA credits, and they won't count AP credits toward your RA requirement (because they aren't RA credits).
If you list what you have, I think people can help you figure out what you need to take.

Right, I knew the AP exam wouldn't count toward RA requirements but I didn't know they wouldn't take NA credits at all. I figured that they'd at least consider them toward the other 48. Good to know.
So then here's what I've already got...
AP Macroeconomics (should qualify for 3 of the 6 required social sciences CH)
CompTIA Network+
CompTIA Security+
CompTIA A+ (but the OLD good-for-life version)
A ton of NA computer classes
A 3 CH NA Current Events course (could count for the other 3 social sciences CH if they took NA?)
I'm already planning on CLEPing English Comp, doing a combination of Olivet and UExcel for my RA credits, and then likely doing Sophia and/or ALEKS for the rest.

Yes. Absolutely. It's not like WGU where you can only submit transcripts before enrollment. I think I sent in my ACE transcript 2 or 3 times after I was enrolled. It sometimes took a while to process the credits, but they were accepted without issue.

Not many see the Big or Full picture from what you've provided, this is how I would play the BOG AAS and save as much cash, energy, time as possible with WGU. From reviewing your previous threads which you've linked to this one... I have a sense of what to work with... Here goes a few points that may not have been mentioned to you... create a spreadsheet with both degrees to reference the requirements, plug them in...
1) First and foremost, you're trying to play the BOG AAS before you work on the WGU BSCIA, I would skip the thought and just focus solely on completing the requirements of the WGU BSCIA. Why? Because there are plans on the wiki and you just need to follow them. In fact, most plans will mirror what is required and shown on the partners.wgu.edu page to verify transfers. If you follow the next steps, the BOG is finished before you're done with the BSCIA.
2) You're planning to take RA credits from ONU and/or other colleges, SKIP this step completely. You just need 1 RA graded credit and it can be the freebie or the ASU course for $25, take them both. Your WGU courses ARE RA already, that's why I asked what/why you're taking them. You save at least $600 by skipping these and using Sophia.org/Study.com for the bulk of your courses, WGU will be your RA requirements for BOG AAS.
3) Forget about your NA credits and potential "older certs", pretend you're starting from scratch and you're looking to get this done as cheap, easy, fast as possible. Get the required 21 general education courses - this is pretty much the same requirement as WGU completed with Sophia, the rest can be all free electives of your choice - which is the entire credits from your WGU degree, 12 is all you need that is RA, you have so many to pick from.
You have an action plan, you just need to follow through, go get them credits!

Hey, thanks so much for the response and continuing to help me think through this thing, both here and in the other threads. So... this thread from Life_One (who did BOG AAS --> WGU BSCSIA) is what got me thinking about this path at all, seeing that the BOG AAS satisfied 30 credits of the WGU program's gen ed requirements (out of 33). I hadn't done all of the math, but it was my thinking that the money I'd spend on the 12 RA + 48 other credits from Olivet/UExcel/Sophia/ALEKS/etc might be easily offset by the money saved by likely shortening my time at WGU by at least one six-month term.
Looking again at the WGU BSCSIA page on the wiki, it does appear that it might work just as well to test out of as much as possible before enrolling and not worry about the BOG AAS. Of course, doing that would eliminate the need for that degree as far as transferring it into WGU goes, since WGU doesn't take transfer credits after enrollment... but maybe I'd go ahead and send my WGU transcripts to Pierpont before graduating anyway just to have an Associates to put on my resume in the meantime.
Thanks again.
