I decided to work on obtaining the Google Data Analytics Cert and was searching for Coursera discounts yesterday when I came across this:
Grow with Google link on University of Maine's website indicating they are a Google Partner.
They're offering all University of Maine students free 6-mos access to Coursera. Yes, it includes UMPI students! It says it is open to the first 500 students in the entire University of Maine system.
I clicked on the link on their site and registered yesterday with my maine.edu email. I received an email today with a link to open a new, free account. I was able to enroll in the Google Data Analytics cert.
It looks as though it provides unlimited access to courses, but I can't say for certain. If you're looking for a specific course or cert, let me know and I can check to see if it's listed.

The IBM certs are usually not included and only Cybersecurity is free with regular TADA. Are the other IBM certs free?

Rachel: You are correct. I don't see any of the IBM certs offered on my menu. Google Cybersecurity Analyst Cert is listed on my menu.

You probably would be best served with a mix/match approach, for the Coursera/TADA offerings, do the ones that have ACE credit recommendation. For the UMPI Coursera option, you can take the ones that aren't offered by TADA and available to UMPI only (regardless of the ACE credit recommendation) as you want to use this for learning/knowledge gaps. Take one first and then switch to the other for optimizing the subscription periods...

Just wondering, is this still available? I start next month, but can access my maine.edu email already... Can we sign up with the same account we used for TADA or do we setup a new one? I don't like having second accounts, it may get confusing later on.

You can do it all with the same account.
I have one Coursera account, and it is registered with my maine.edu email address. I used this single account to access all my completed Coursera courses, including the free courses offered during the pandemic, certificates during my previous Coursera Plus subscription, and TADA certificates and courses. This same Coursera account also allows me to register for any of the Google certificate programs due to my UMPI student / alumni status.

I wonder if it’s automatic somehow. I am not at UMPI, but I have access through my school. It just sorta happened. I didn’t even know they offered it. I didn’t click on a link or anything. One day I was just clicking on the drop down to switch to TADA (when it was still available) and instead, I had “Career Academy”. When I selected it, I saw it was connected to my school and has ALL the certificates available to me. The weird thing is, they don’t advertise it anywhere that I could find. It’s great because I don’t take actual classes all the time, so when I am in between classes I can work on coursera, sophia or linkedin learning for free! I am hoping the coursera certificates will teach me the data stuff I want to learn. The only problem for me is that I lack focus when there’s no real due dates!

@Vle045, Yes, many people have issues with focus and getting things done as they've got their own 'internal' priorities. What I try to do now is to have my kids/wife do 'homework' at the same time, so we can be a cheerleader for each other. For example, wife works on her Business, Computer, or IT class and the kids would work on their French/Math or something like that and then we all work on dinner, watch a movie, whatever that comes to mind...

Did you apply for the Google Scholarship and receive one? I applied yesterday and haven't heard back yet. I know the deadline is coming up to apply.
