Hello!
I am working on finishing up a few credits before starting at UMPI. One area that I'm concerned is the requirement of a foreign language. In high school, I took French but only two years and I remember a minimal amount.
Since there have been changes with InstantCert Spanish approval, what is the recommended avenue to complete? Is there a French option?
Thank you!

You could try taking an ACTFL or CLEP exam for French. Otherwise, Spanish is your only good option. Sophia has a good Spanish course for this requirement.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

If you don't remember much from a high school foreign language course, then I wouldn't spend the time on an exam such as CLEP. I would instead spend the time on Sophia's Spanish course which can be completed quickly even for someone with zero knowledge of Spanish. Spanish is the only language available on Sophia at this time.

Just take Spanish 1 at Sophia, for the money it’s the easiest option out there for foreign language. Unless you speak multiple languages and want to do the ACTFL exam. I was uneasy about taking Spanish again after many years, originally trying the instacert course which was a waste of time. The course at Sophia is very doable for a beginner. I took Spanish 2 there as well. If you have any questions let me know.
