I posted this a while back. Pretty reasonable for Florida residents. They take some alt credit. And no calculus !!

What is your budget? What classes do you already have? TESU is generally recommended for comp sci, but we definitely need to know what you already have.

I would highly recommend you create a copy/paste from the template Flelm linked you to. Have you completed an associates from either of the institutions? Do you have commitments such as kids, work, etc? Please provide more details on your situation so we can provide a more suitable response.

Strictly from a cost perspective for a Florida resident. Probably UF $130 per credit vs $230 for FIU. FIU may allow more alt credit though. But if you’ve got a ton a community college credits you won’t have to worry about alt credit anyway. Also I think UF is a bachelor of science vs Bachelor of Arts. Which means it will be more structured (less electives) and math heavy. If you can handle the math , have the community college credits and don’t need alt sources. Go for UF

Just compare all of the degrees you're interested in at each school. Also, apply, to see who accepts you and what they bring everything in as. THEN, you can decide what you want to do. Really, you can only go by what you know, and that comes from the information you'll get from each school. (02-11-2022, 11:18 PM)Pats20 Wrote: Strictly from a cost perspective for a Florida resident. Go for UF Generally speaking (not FL specific) a BS vs a BA is not much different - they both generally have the same number of electives. It's just that in the GE, with the BA you need more "arts" courses (humanities and social sciences) while the BS requires more science/math. Usually the same number of credits in the GE area, just spread out a bit differently.

I am not a fan of WGU. My best friend went to WGU and she transferred out to another RN program online at UCF. I am leaning towards the BA in Computer Science at FIU or UF. I would like to stay within the state college systems in Florida. Thank you. |
