Fema credits that aren't just electives

rickyjo Wrote:I believe there is one FEMA class that TESC takes as a humanity. I don't remember which one, this was asked a couple months ago and somebody here knows.

Have you looked at NFA? they are essentially the same, free, and some count as "fire science". They are ACE approved and vastly more likely to be accepted at your college.

If I remember correctly, after speaking with the TESC Military Advisor, they will take 15 FEMA's as concentration instead of electives and some of those as upper level towards their Bachelors in Homeland Security.

Mom2,

My son took NFA~ Q318,Q118 & Q137- He has not applied to TESC as of yet but the credits are sitting on his ACE transcript for when he does.
I don't know what the 4th NFA is. Where are you Rickjo?

As far as I know, these are the only ones that are ACE approved and therefore accepted at EC and TESC - Q318, Q118, and Q137.

I have seen conversations about a 4th one being accepted at TESC despite its lack of ACE approval – Q534. For more info:

tesc q534 - Google Search

If anyone finds more ACE approved NFA courses, please let us know.

creative Wrote:ok, I will give them a call and find out. The $40 is very reasonable... so I can't complain at all. It's just going to be a long wait for them to evaluate my transcripts at TESC. They told me I can expect 4-6 wks after they get all my transcripts from the various schools I went to. So if those all arrive in the next week or so... I am still looking at the end of October-- or later-- to find out what they will take and what I need to fill any open spots. blu2blu said it took 9 wks for his evaluationSad . So it is a waiting game at best right now. According to my calculations I will need about 9 free elective credits and I have been taking a few FEMA's already. They are interesting, and not bad really. How do the NFA compare? Are they similar?
That's right, I's been waiting for about 2 months for my 1st transcript evaluation, now I'm waiting for my 2nd one. Quick question- they accepted 66 credits from CC so far, I hope they will accept more credits from my Bachelor in Liberal Arts but there is a limit- 80 credits. It's not enough to complete all prerequisites- I mean humanities, electives, ets. If I do some CLEPS, ASST - will they accept them in addition to my 80 transferred credits?
