I've taken Intro to Pych, Intro To Socio, Macro & MicroEconomics and I'll be taking Fundementals of Counseling within the next day or two I feel I have the ground work to sit for the Social Science Clep soon. Looking on the forum allot of people say that taking US History is extremely helpful in preparation for the Social Science Clep exam and my question is can someone tell me based on what i've taken to date would I be better off taking US History 1 or US History 2 in preparation, thanks!

I took Intro to Psych, Intro to Soc. then I did a little brush up on History and had no problem with Social Science CLEP, It is a 6 credit so that was better then having to take 2 other exams

What are your plans in a nut shell? My direct answer to your question is that US1 is probably easier unless you can remember watching the Berlin wall come down; then US2 might be easier but it depends upon your prior knowledge.
However, why not take both if you could use the credits? I took both US histories, both WCivs, psyc, sociology, both economics , and then the general social exam. You don't have to do all of that, but if the credits would fit in your plan I'd recommend both US exams and then take the general social test.

I took history 1 and 2 a year before I took social sciences & history so I pretty much forgot everything I learned. I also didn't even study and took the test and got a 61. You could probably study for a week or two and do fine for the social science test.

Thanks all. I just spoke to my advisor and found out that I'm starting to wrap up most of my lower level credits so I'm gonna try social science Clep w/o taking us history cause apparently I don't need it.

You should do well with all those other tests under your belt. If I may suggest running through the US history flashcards before sitting for the social exam. The exam is about half history (most of that US history).
