Excelsior Graduation July 9, 2010
#61
Sadly I won't be there. I moved to Las Vegas a month ago, am self-employed and have barely had any income since. I think there is a way to watch the ceremony live on-line. I will do that and be with you in spirit. Have a tremendous, wonderful time, and celebrate the incredible success of having completed your degree!!

Hi Marianne!

I sent you a pm as well - not sure if you check those, so thought I'd post on this thread as well. I wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you right now, and I (and I'm sure many others) are waiting to hear how you are doing post-surgery. Rest well, and let your friends and family spoil you right now!

Cheers,
Sasha

I too am far far away, and won't be able to attend. I also will watch the live feed, though. It seems a little funny to celebrate 1 year later from completing it, however. Even more actually since I've earned my Masters two months ago, but I'll be watching.

Class of 2009 - Conferral date September 16th.

Congratulations to you both, April and Norema! Norema, how did you get your Masters in one year? Inquiring minds want to know? Oh, and what did you get it in? That's a terrific accomplishment.

I am in the midst of deciding to go to Cal Southern University for my Masters in Psychology. It's all online, all self-paced, totally my style. The only hold up is... money... but I am figuring out how to bring in a lot of income so I can take care of that now.

I actually finished it in 7 months from Excelsiors' October conferral date to be precise... sorry to sound like I'm bragging I'm just proud of myself, that's all. It's been a long time comin'. I got my Master of Arts in Professional Development, and my Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management, from Amberton University. They'll accept 4 graduate courses to transfer, but I was only able to transfer 2 from VESi via Morningside College. Since Excelsior provided a letter of completion, I was able to enroll with Amberton in the fall session. So I took 3 courses in the fall, 3 in Winter, then the last 4 in the Spring and I graduated May 20th. I have another post out there about it all, though.

Thanks Norema. I just read your thread about Amberton. How amazing it is that many of us that are testing our way through our undergraduate degrees are going on to graduate school?

Amberton wouldn't be the right school for me. I want to become a licensed MFCC in California, so Cal Southern (which is totally self-paced, the only kind of school I think I would be into) seems to be the one for me. I want to go on after that and get my PsyD as well.

Keep us posted as to your next steps, and congrats again on all of the great work that you've done!

It's graduation day!

Ok, maybe some of us actually had our degrees in hand many months before today's date. Still, I will be watching the commencement proceedings via webcast.

Isn't technology grand!

I just want to congratulate my fellow grads and tell the others on here still plugging away that you can do it. Look at my past posts when I was saying I didn't know it was possible, I was telling others they were motivating me, or telling everyone I passed my first test...and now..i'm done.

I sortof miss it.

I will be watching it with a cup of yummy metropolis coffee in the beautiful Chicago neighborhood of Edgewater. I will raise my cup of coffee in a toast to all us Excelsior grads today.

Whoo hoo!!
