Anyone who is going to attend the Exclsior graduation ceremony in Albany this July, please contact me via e-mail. I'd love to organize a group of InstantCert folks to meet up and celebrate.

I'm strongly considering it.

I just officially enrolled, and I'm considering moving to NYC, so that would be a quick train ride! Let's keep up to date.

Yes, let's keep in touch about it!

I initially waivered a bit thinking that I don't want to spend the money or take the time to go out there, but seriously, graduating after more than 25 years is a big deal to me, and I want to walk in the cap and gown - the whole thing. I think I/we deserve that, don't you?

I also can couple it with visiting friends on the East Coast, and that helps close the deal.

That's what I hear, motuterry, that they really go all out. Thank you for letting me know that to help solidify my decision to attend. What are you doing now that you've been a graduate for a year?

I would love to attend. I should be finished with my last test on March 31st so I'm hoping that's enough time for them to complete my transcript. If so, I'll be there.

That should be enough time because the cutoff date is April 23 to have everything submitted. If you're close to completing everything at that time, Excelsior says that you can petition to walk and be included in the July graduation.

As time goes on, perhaps we can all stay in touch and figure out a place to meet up. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am attending on my own - my friends and family would love to be there, but it is a long, expensive way to go...

I went to a graduation ceremony at Excelsior College as a guest of a graduate many years ago.

It was an excellent event. The graduates each walked across the stage to receive their diplomas in their caps and gowns. They had a very nice dinner for the graduates and their families in the evening. They also had various activities (tour of college, advising, open house, booths, discussion forum) throughout the day and time for the graduates to talk and get to know each other.

It was so nice; it makes me look forward to getting to go to mine, too!

I have not watched a recent ceremony on their website, so I do not know if they still do all of these things, but I hope they do.
