So the DSST exam apparently has an essay portion. Can anybody tell me more about that? How hard is it, and are you expected to use examples from Kant, Plato etc.? How much writing is required?
Thanks!

Hi Christa,
Apparently we do not have to DO the essay portion of the DSST Ethics in America exam - thank God!! I am taking this exam on Monday morning - when are you taking it?
Good luck, and have a good weekend!

Thanks for the quick response, we do you mean we actually don't have to do it? You mean I have a choice whether or not to do it?
Thanks,
Christa

That's a very good question! All I know is we don't HAVE to do it...so I suppose you COULD do it if you wanted to.
Snazz...what's the answer to this one...you'll probably know! hilarious

I browsed through the old messages and saw the explanation from Snazzlefrag. All is clear now. Sorry to bug you, but appreciate the quick help. Good luck on Monday (I'm also taking it on Monday)!

Just to recap what I said in the other thread....
DANTES doesn't grade the essay portion of this exam. They merely send it to your school for a member of your faculty to grade. So unless you are enrolled in a school, and that school specifically requests that you do the essay, you should completely ignore the essay questions.
This applies for ALL exams that come with optional essays, with the exception of CLEP English Comp w/ Essay. CLEP will grade the essay for this exam and factor it into your score.
For every other exam, the essay is purely optional...and actually SHOULD NOT be done UNLESS your school specifically requests it and is willing to grade it themselves.
Hope that helps,
Snazzlefrag
My name is Rob
