As luck would have it, I've just been informed by my TESU advisor that I have to take ENC-102. She apologized profusely for her oversight and not informing me, earlier. The advisor was recommending I take the sofia.org course or the TECEP exam. I've already completed the ENC-101 (English 101) requirement.
But, from what most of you are saying, it seems the CLEP route is easier. So, I'm leaning more towards the College Composition course through ModernStates and then the CLEP exam.
I'm going for BS Tech Studies and these were my original requirements:
PHI-384 Ethics (completed through SDC)
POS-110 Civic Engagement (completed through SDC)
SOS-110 Critical Info Literacy (completed through TESU)
STA-101 Stats (will take through SDC)
MAN-435 Project Mgmt (will take through SDC)
APS-401 Current Trends (must take through TESU)
ENC-102 (I found about this one today)

Either CLEP or the TECEP is going to be heaps easier than Sophia's English.
I would honestly recommend Sophia's stats over SDC. I don't think you need an UL Project Management and Sophia's Project Management would be easier and cheaper. Unless you've already paid for a month of SDC, in which case it makes sense to complete the courses there.

I'll investigate the TECEP ENC-102 a little more before starting the Sophia course.
I've already paid for SDC and so I've been taking the courses there.
It's funny you mentioned the Stats course. I'm currently taking it with SDC. And, I am getting pummeled by the complexity of the content. Now, this is coming from someone who has taken Calculus, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra and regularly reviews Calculus with their children in college. The SDC stats course is soooo hard. I'm planning on taking the SDC Stats exam next week. I only have to get a 56% to pass. But, I've got at least another few days of intensive studying to complete. I am worried about it.

If you somehow don't pass, I wouldn't pay for an extra exam or another month. Sophia would only cost slightly more than an extra exam and their stats class is going to be so much easier.

TESU does not accept any of the College Comp/English Comp courses that I know of right now, so don't take it there.
I took the TECEP cold, and passed it pretty easily. I would suggest it. If you're a decent writer, just take it and get it over with.

Thanks for the info. I'll take the TESU and be done with it.

Sorry, I was replying to your commend about Study.com - TESU isn't accepting any of their comp classes. They will still take Sophia and SL and others.

Both departments said that the other group was responsible. The CLEP contact insisted that the form is correct but ignored that I can't fill it out correctly.
I've looked into local testing centers over the past few days. Several are still shut down or closed to outside students. However, I did find one local technical college which seems promising. I just got off the phone with their testing accommodations person, and they are very willing to help make this happen. In the end, I think that I'll go with them.
I'm breezing through the modern states course, so I think that I'll definitely be ready for the exam.
Update on my personal situation:
College Board finally admitted that their accommodations form doesn't work for CLEP at home and are in the process of updating it. No ETA, but the pandemic might be over by the time they figure it out and approve me.
Meanwhile, I found a technical college in my area that's an open testing center for CLEP and DSST. I've had several good conversations with them, and it looks like I'll be able to take the College Composition CLEP there with the accommodations I need in a few weeks. I'm finishing up modernstates and will soon apply for my voucher. In the meantime, I'm using scholarship application essays as practice opportunities.

The DSST Principles of Advanced English Composition is also all multiple choice, no essays - and would count for ENC-102. That would include going to a testing center, but I'm willing to bet you could finish more quickly than the CLEP w/Essay.
I thought the English Comp II TECEP exam was fairly easy - yes, an "essay" was required, but it was more like a very short 3-paragraph one, rather than a true college level "essay." I'm wondering if TESU would make accommodations for you?
Davar & Coopersmith both have English Comp I & II - I'm not certain how those work, but I think they might make accommodations - they might allow for an outside proctor for you as well - you can talk to them directly.
TEL has both courses, and they have RA partners to bring the courses in from. I don't think you have to do long proctored exams, although you can look at the syllabus.
In the end, I went with the CLEP College Composition Modular and DSST Principles of Advanced English Composition. Thanks for pointing me in that direction. I'd recommend this combination to anyone who is proficient in English but struggles to write an essay in the exam context. Both exams are straightforward multiple choice only tests and can likely be completed in an hour or less.
Personally, I can only manage to sit upright at a computer for around 30-60 minutes at a stretch before I feel dizzy and lightheaded. Sometimes taking a break can help, but there's still a limit to what I can do in a day. Thus, I need to break longer exams into more manageable chunks, which may even require spreading the exam across multiple days.
The local technical college testing center I mentioned in the review area is fantastic. They quickly understood my needs and set me up in their accommodations system. Whenever I need to take a break, they pause or adjust the time on CLEP and DSST exams.
However, splitting an exam across more than one session requires intervention from the exam provider. CLEP is very difficult to work with in this regard. Thanks to the people at the technical college, I finally talked to someone at College Board who grasped the situation. He seemed willing to finally make something happen. Nonetheless, College Board still imposed several roadblocks. They deemed the medical documentation I submitted to the technical college insufficient. Once I submitted additional evidence, they estimated a turnaround time of up to eight weeks for review. After approving my accommodations, an additional four to eight weeks would be required for exam software programming. Consequently, I declined to pursue this process and took the CCM CLEP the next day.
I scored 75 on the CCM CLEP and 427 on the DSST. Additionally, I got through the technical writing DSST with 463. I utilized my TESU PrepSTEP access to prepare for all three.
