Easiest Cleps to Take !
#1
Hello, I need 9 more credits and i was hoping to maybe be able to get them sort of soon ? I have a clep center really close so its easy to go to and set up appts.
I have been studying for the biology clep to try to get 6 out of the way, but there seems to be sooo much information, between books and this site my head seems overwhelmed from trying to study everything with being out of school for 4 years now , was looking maybe for some easier cleps ? I looked on google and i saw introduction to psychology wasnt too bad ? but i have no backround in any of that. Just looking for something thats on the easier side, so i can do a week or so of studying and have a good chance at passing something quicker then the month i have been trying to learn biology !
The cleps i have already taken and passed are
Analyzing and interpreting literature, which our testing center said we only get 3 credits for it, but everywhere else I am seeing six ? Is there anyway to check college board for credits recieved?
Also have taken College Composition Modular

Thanks in advance !

The more credit someone has, the fewer available options for injecting CLEP credits- if you only need 9, are you sure you can even use CLEP at this point? CLEP usually only covers the first 60 credits.

Your testing center is correct about Analyzing and Interpreting Lit- it's 3 not 6. The people showing 6 haven't updated their websites since the downgrade last October. If you took it prior to Oct, your college may choose to award you 6, which would be great.

TESU will still give you 6 credits for A&I Lit, but most other colleges will not. Search your college's website for CLEP to get an accurate idea of which tests you could take and for how many credits.

The problem with the 6cr CLEP's is that they are much broader since they are 2 semesters worth of information. So if you're not already good at Biology, it's going to be a harder exam to take.

College Math would be an easier 6cr exam for me, but that's because I homeschool my kids and do math all the time. It might not be for you.

That's the trouble with asking what's "easy". For some people, English Lit is easy, for others, they would think it's hard.

Go through the list and see what you think are "easy" courses. Are you good at Spanish French or German? Those can be up to 9cr if you score high enough. History, economics, literature, are all available. Just do what you think you will be best at.

Nothing wrong with DSSTs, if your college will accept and if there is a testing center near by.

There is a lot of good information in the specific feedback forum for DSSTs, as well.

DSST Difficulty List - Free-Clep-Prep.com

Clep Difficulty List - Free-Clep-Prep.com

Some of those exams are no longer in existence, I believe. But the owner of that site listed in order what he thought was easiest to more difficult.

So, you need 9 more credits to get what exactly? An AA or AS? Is there something specific these credits are for, such as education requirements for an associates or bachelor degree? You might want to verify you have all your required general Ed courses completed for the AA or AS before you consider taking any others, if it goes into a section you don't need.

There is nothing specific the credits need to be for, I just need 15 college credits total. English exams tend to be a lot easier for me than math and history but I am running out of options on the English side, so i guess I have to make a switch! Thank you guys for all the info and feedback, we are having a clep-a-thon on base here soon, so I will probably study my butt off and try to achieve as many credits as possible during that time ! Biology does seem a little out of my lead to try to cram everything in as soon as possible, I think I will stick to the 3 credit options for now.

Well, the thing to remember is that you can't get credit for the same thing twice- that's why people are asking you about what you need. For instance, if you took College Algebra already, you couldn't ALSO take the College Algebra CLEP. Since CLEP exams are 100 and 200 level, and you state that you've been in college for 4 years, there are probably only a few you're eligible to get credit for. Keep in mind no one will stop you from testing, but a college will deny credit if it's in an area you already have credit in. Even 15 credits in "anything" won't allow duplication.
