"Master in XYZ"?

I’m considering purchasing access to ENEB's master's for my partner, who doesn’t have a bachelor’s degree. A traditional route to earning a bachelor’s would take too much time. Afterward, we plan to have the degree evaluated by ECE to obtain documentation of its equivalency to a bachelor’s degree.

TIA!
ENEB will not award any of their master's degrees to anyone who cannot verify they have a bachelor's degree. People have learned this the hard way in the past. I'm an ENEB alumni from five years ago when the school expanded into the USA, so this is how I know.

That is not my experience. I received my ENEB MBA (with the Isabel paperwork) last year, at no point was I asked to validate a bachelors (which I don't have)
I asked admissions@ before enrolling, and they were happy with professional experience.

ENEB did not ask me if I had a Bachelors degree, but when my husband enrolled at ENEB they did ask to see a transcript from his undergraduate degree.

I’d like to clarify some points mentioned on Wiki regarding Máster Propio degrees:
  1. Belgium: Máster Propio degrees are no longer evaluated. Despite pursuing legal action, it has been confirmed that these programs are not recognized in Belgium.
  2. Sweden: Similarly, Sweden has stopped evaluating Máster Propio degrees, making recognition there impossible.
Additionally, a Máster Propio with a thesis component (meeting the typical requirement for a master’s program in Europe) was submitted, ensuring there was no argument regarding the absence of a final project. However, challenges persist due to the limited understanding of these degrees outside Spain.
It is essential to note that while Máster Propio degrees are legitimate and legally recognized in Spain under Article 34 of the Ley Orgánica de Universidades, they are classified as "non-official" qualifications. This means they are valid within Spain but are not equivalent to official master's degrees for purposes such as public employment or access to doctoral programs.
Many European countries equate the absence of Ministry of Education oversight with a lack of accreditation, which reflects a narrow and outdated perspective. This misunderstanding continues to limit the broader recognition of Máster Propio degrees.

Have you checked out NotebookLM yet? It's got about a 70-80% accuracy but it will parse information from multiple sources that you upload and also tell you which document it's pulling from. It also will create a "deep dive" podcast style conversation about your subject if want. It sounds like a pretty natural conversation but still isn't 100%. I've had varying success with it but overall positive. It's fun to play around with. I think you can also use it to study, create condensed content, etc etc.

For PDF you can use PDFsam - it's free & open source and you can merge or split files. (I don't known if the program can handle large files, but I have used it for a few pages)

So I had a weak moment and wrote ENEB to see if I could enroll in the Global MBA program.  I get an answer back and was informed that yes I could enroll in the Global MBA program.  However then was told this program is a specialty program and none of the previous degree work I did would count.  There's 22 classes in the Global MBA program and between my Master in Big Data and BI and my Master in Project Management under the old programs, plus the courses I did as part of the new Master I did when I earned the updated Master in HR and Talent Management there are only 4 courses I need to get the Global MBA.

I wrote again and asked for clarity and acknowledged I understood there were new courses that had been added to the Global MBA curriculum, but per their own Validation Guide all but 4 classes I did have completed under both the old and new course offerings.  I don't know if I am going to take the plunge even if it comes back I would need just the 4 classes--especially it looks like I'd have to take at least one more Accounting course - BLECH!

I think this will likely be the future trend for treatment of Propios. Countries like the US where institutional recognition is deemed more important than degree-specific recognition will continue to recognize Propios as some form of graduate work, whereas those that focus on governmental recognition to the degree level will reject Propios as formal graduate work.

Honestly, I find the latter somewhat problematic. If Propios do not account for some degree of graduate-level work, instituions that sign off on Propios should face the same scrutiny on their accreditation since they’re using their brand to sponsor an “illegitimate” program.

I'm a bit surprised there are no diplomas for the advertised Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence and Master in Project Management. Is everyone not getting those? Their page said those are included with the Global MBA.

Why did someone just delete my comment asking about the included diplomas?

Hey everyone,

Has anyone gotten clarification about the separate diplomas? The main reason I applied for the Global MBA instead of the MBA + Master’s in Big Data and Business Intelligence was because the sales rep made it sound like the "Triple Masters" meant receiving three diplomas:
  1. MBA – Master of Business Administration
  2. Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence
  3. Master in Project Management
That’s why I signed up for the Global MBA.

Looking back at the website, it does seem to support this under the "YOUR GLOBAL MBA INCLUDES" section:
  • MBA – Master of Business Administration
  • Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence
  • Master in Project Management
  • Diploma of Specialization in Innovation and Project Management
  • Business Spanish Program Certificate
Then, just a few paragraphs below that, it says THREE DIPLOMAS:
"Upon completing your studies, you will be eligible to receive a double certification awarded by the European Business School of Barcelona, endorsed and certified by Universidad Isabel I:
- Global MBA
- Business Spanish Program Certificate (optional)
Additionally, you will obtain a Diploma of Specialization in Innovation and Project Management issued by the European Business School of Barcelona."

Does this mean the Global MBA encompasses the three master’s programs and the diploma, but we only get one digital certification (then pay for physical certification) that says “Global MBA”? Or do we actually receive separate diplomas for the MBA, Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence, and Master in Project Management?

Would love to hear if anyone has gotten clarity on this! Feel like I may have stomped my foot on this one...   Sad

I believe I have bad news for you.

The “three diplomas” they were referring to was
1. The Global MBA
2. Diploma for Business Spanish
3. Diploma of Specialization in Innovation and Project Management

That’s how I understood it, at least.
Judging from the exchanges others have had with ENEB, I think that’s that most probable case.

I have to concur with Lincoln Lawyer on this one.  I've been in the back and forth with ENEB to obtain clarity on what courses I would need to take should I desire to pursue the Global MBA.

I did a quick run through of the new Big Data curriculum against the Global MBA curriculum and there were, I believe, four courses short of the new Big Data curriculum.  I didn't look at the comparisons for the new Project Management master, but I would not be surprised if there were deficits between the Global MBA and the new MPM.  I did not go back and look at the old curriculum for either of the degrees, but I am wondering if that is what ENEB has referenced but then have not updated their final award of degrees.

Still hashing out with ENEB my own request for clarification around my past course work and what will transfer from the old courses I took.  I do have both the old ENEB Masters in Big Data and Project Management, earning them in early 2023.

Best of luck to you and don't hesitate to advocate for yourself with ENEB to get past credits applied to new degree programs and/or request exceptions "Convalidada" with any previous course work from other institutions, professional licenses and certifications, etc.

While I'm also highly suspicious of this based on the price, the page clearly states that you still have to complete the academic program (and that you have 24 months to do so), so it's not a simple diploma mill. I don't know how or if they're accredited (I'm guessing not), but there is more to it than just buying the degree.

A quick search results:

Thank you for your research! If it walks like a duck....

If you go to the ENEB website and look at the degree programs it lists the full price of the degree $7K+, if I recall.  ENEB will regularly discount, deeply, as many of us know.  ENEB indicates these deep discount offers are due to ENEB's opportunity to absorb the other tuition associated with the degree and offer discounted tuition as their desire is to make education accessible and affordable to students world-wide.

ENEB has also discontinued their offerings of programs via Groupon, and, it appears the Hotmart payment platform is their way ahead to pay directly through this platform in response to ENEB's marketing and sale options.  There are posts in this forum where ENEB actually directed those who had purchased training programs through Groupon they would not accept the vouchers and suggested the purchaser go back to Groupon and seek a refund.

ENEB is evolving and refining their programming, price structure, marketing and outreach, etc.  There is also a reasonable amount of documentation how the programs have held up with various foreign credit evaluations, employers, college acceptances in diverse ways.  They also have updated their entire training program offerings and have added new programs as well.  ENEB is not the fit or desire for everyone, that's been widely established on this forum, however, it is not a degree mill and for those students/graduates that have found success through their efforts to earn a degree from ENEB, great.  And for those who did not find success with ENEB or opted to go another direction, great as well.

At the end of the day, facts are facts and there is a healthy abundance of documentation of the ways in which ENEB degrees have been a benefit.  One final observation, there are people who truly believe there is no benefit in even earning an MBA unless it comes from a certain university, so once again, to ENEB or not ENEB YMMV.

By validation in Sweden, do you mean accepting their credits as valid ECTS at antagning.se?
