Thanks! This was very helpful.

So the Florida Commission for Independent Education is not a recognized institutional accreditor Dodgy .

It looks like Blackwell has not been truthful in the way it has positioned itself. It is confusing being licensed with being accredited.

Blackwell Global University is an American university located in Orlando, Florida. It offers accredited master's and degree degrees online and on campus.

Blackwell Global University is licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education (CIE), License #3985. CIE is responsible for licensing non-public post-secondary educational institutions in the state of Florida and can be reached at: 325 W Gaines St, Suite 1414 Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0400 | 850-245-3200.(http://www.fldoe.org/policy/cie/)

This is the insidiousness and scam of many fake schools. All a state license is is a piece of paper from the State's Secretary of State giving you a license to operate. Anyone can get incorporated and licensed.

For example: say you go to barbering and cosmetology school. You graduate with your barbering certificate. Now you want to open a shop. All you have to do is file Articles of Incorporation with the Sec of State's office, get incorporated, file your license request with the proper Barber/Cosmetology State Board (who verifies your education from a recognized school), and you are licensed and incorporated to open your Barber Shop. After that, you then have to ensure you meet the operational requirements of the State Health Department, when offering any services to humans e.g, haircare, chemicals, nail salon, skin care, massages, etc., (a Health & Safety Regulatory Requirement).

The lie they tell in these schools, is that a "state license" is equal to accreditation. IT IS NOT! And has been so eloquently put above by SlammX, if the school is not RA or NA by a recognized agency, they are a fraud and NOT accredited.

One of the best tell-tale signs of REAL accreditation (with a very small handful of exceptions) is whether the school offers Title IV Financial Aid. Only under very limited scenarios of vocational schools and limited licensing schools that don't offer Financial Aid, most legitimate schools that are accredited offer Title IV Financial Aid.

Those two websites above are GREAT resources that can absolutely clarify the differences and give clear details on the subject of accreditation and recognized agencies both in the USA and Abroad. Especially if many overseas schools are cheaper than US schools and are recognized as internationally-accredited schools by their respective governments.

After emailing, it appears that Blackwell will be the official ENEB degree, they wouldn't elaborate on if they would or would not maintain the Isabel I accreditation.

They weren't as transparent with me.

"We are still finalizing the details of the cooperation with the University. Rest assured, we will be updating our students as soon as possible."

Let me get a move on finishing this program so that I don't fall victim to a bait and switch. Thanks for the heads up.

For US school accreditation, always check this site (Blackwell isn't on it): https://ope.ed.gov/dapip/#/search-results

American accreditation is tricky. As I've written in this thread before, the US gov has gotten rid of the official accreditation difference between regional and national accreditation, but each state still has its own individual rules on what it accepts. As an example DEAC is a national accreditor which will appear on schools on this website, and Washington state now accepts it as equal to regional accreditation for getting a license to practice via your degree (public school teaching etc). However California state does NOT accept DEAC. So you can get a public school teacher license with DEAC in Washington but not in California. The trickier part is when you go abroad and try to use your degree for immigration or a foreign license. Some countries like Canada look at if the accreditor is valid in the state the school is registered in, not if it's accredited on a national basis (so if your school is DEAC accredited and registered in California, Canada says it's invalid, but if it's DEAC accredited and registered in Washington, Canada says it's valid).

At any rate Blackwell has neither national nor regional accreditation as nothing shows up on ope.ed.gov.

Plenty of us can read Chinese characters but we don't know the Chinese pronunciation (I speak Japanese). If you write Chinese words in the future it would be more helpful to include the characters and not the Latin alphabet as they are the same (野鶏). In this case according to this site the Chinese phrase comes from a famous Chinese story "囲城" where the main character graduates from said "Wild Chicken University". Interestingly it also says Japanese "F-rank schools" (basically like ENEB - anyone can get in, and probably anyone can graduate, and there is no prestige whatsoever, but it has no practical bad effect on job hunting) which are legally recognized as able to grant degrees in Japan, are claimed to be diploma mills by Chinese people - yet another example of how trying to see if your school's accreditation is valid internationally is tricky https://note.com/sosen/n/n7469069f92ad

Looks like I need to hurry up and complete my ENEB degree.  I've got 4 out of 13 modules completed in the past month after starting on June 1st.    That validation with Blackwell is not going to be beneficial unless they either become CHEA accredited or build up more international partners that they can cross-validate with which would lead to more choices of where one could earn an official accredited degree based on the work completed at ENEB.

Does anyone want to discuss the following institutions? It looks like ENEB is pursuing a similar arrangement with them as with UI1 and Blackwell:

Universidad Tecnológica Nacional - UTN (Argentina) https://utn.edu.ar/es/

Institución Universitaria Salazar y Herrera - IUSH (Colombia)

Universidad Espiritu Santo - UEES (Ecuador)

UPDATE: I have been accepted into the Master of Arts in Human Rights practice @ the University of Arizona. I submitted my ENEB (ECE FCE Report) as mentioned before, that gave me a "US RA Bachelor's degree Equivalent."

As I mentioned before I was also accepted at Norwich University as well. I've decided to go with UA, as their program is a bit cheaper and shorter (1-year). I'll be done in June 2025.
