Florida 'state' accreditation, here's what I had to say within the hour about it on the sister board: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?thr...ost-600794

Blackwell is not accredited by an organization recognized by the US Department of Education. I would put it on equal footing with MCA Business School which has 'state' accreditation with certification from UCAM for credit transfer in the similar fashion ENEB has from Isabel I. However, Blackwell seems to be more distinct in terms of recognition by the Florida Commission for Independent Education (CIE) which adds a little recognition similar to exempt status. If they offered a validation degree, I would consider accepting it. Otherwise, Isabel I has and continues to be sufficient.

This agreement begins on July 2024, between Escuela de Negocios Europea de Barcelona, hereafter ENEB and the Blackwell Global University, hereafter “BGU,” to facilitate the transfer of credits and enable students to obtain the programs from ENEB and obtain the degree from BGU
BGU?What are you fucking doing, man. How dare you
I can't describe this moment, it can't get any worse. Isn't this a good thing? BGU is accredited in Florida right? Doesn't really make any difference to me though. I'm not from the US. It does make me wonder though which degree might hold more weight - Isabel or BGU. Pheasant College
That mean No Accreditation college.(by the government in most countries, or by having "national" or "regional" accreditation in the US)
Translated from Chinese language, the Chinese expression is "yejidaxue."

Thanks for sharing that!

While ENEB is "dubious" accreditation-wise already anyway, I wonder if I'd be better off going for something like their Big Data masters instead for the Isabel link.
It probably won't matter much in practice.

Doesn't "yejidaxue" translate to "fake university"? In the United States not having accreditation does not mean a college is a fake university.

yejidaxue is a very broad concept in practical application, which can be used to express not only diploma mills or degree mills, but also degrees awarded by institutions that lack proper accreditation in the place where they are located.
What I want to express here is that the average college or university in the United States is either regionally accredited or nationally accredited (and possibly religiously exempted), but this school meets none of the three conditions, so I call it yejidaxue, and I can cite two examples that I am familiar with, the Hong Kong Asian Business School and City University of Paris

So does that mean this statement on Blackwell's website is a lie? I don't know where to check these things. Who is responsible for accrediting institutions in Florida?
"Blackwell Global University is an American university located in Orlando, Florida. It offers accredited master's and degree degrees online and on campus."
