If you're active duty, be aware that UMPI has no provisions for you needing to be deployed or to go on training, etc. Anything that would leave you away from the computer for potentially weeks at a time. You might want to consider a different school. For active duty military who qualify for military tuition rates, TESU is almost as cheap (maybe cheaper?) than UMPI.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

I work a desk job in the USAF and am non-deployable. UMPI would be a great fit; however, I cannot find anywhere that says if they accept MilTA or not.

You will need to call the financial aid office and discuss your specific eligibility. UMPI is a state university which does accept military tuition assistance, but you need to work with financial aid on your specific case. This page may help you with more info:

Sent from my iPhone using DegreeForum.net UMPI accepts Military TA and GI Bill as well. I'm active duty and I submitted my TA to Nola in the Financial Services Department and she processed it accordingly.

How did you create your funding request? I know it cost $1400 per 8 weeks; however, AFVEC only allows you to request individual classes capped at $250 per credit.

I'm not sure if Air Force TA has a similar setup as Navy TA, but I created a TA application for 2 courses for each term (both Summer I and Summer II, 4 courses total) at $245 per credit hour and had Jessica enroll me for those 2 courses per each term. Since UMPI's tuition cost wasn't in the Navy TA database, I had to attach a screenshot of the Maine in state tuition rate and then a screenshot of the UMS Veterans page showing that Active Duty receive the In-State tuition rate vice the out of state rate. The Navy Education Office approved my courses without issue.

I just received my approved funding from the Air Force. Who do I need to submit my MilTA voucher with to apply it to me $1400 balance? The Air Force had UMPI's tuition cost on their site, I was able to received $233.33 per credit for 6 courses, but it only equated to $1399.98. I guess I have to pay $.02 out of pocket.
