You have to install java script manually. Aleks has the directions on its site how to do so, on the problems page.

I am also enrolled at LU, but online. Have you had any truble with them accepting your credits? I plan to use Straightliner or Aleks to take my one Math requirement for Math 115. I will need to take "college algebra" as an equivilent. I am very weak in Math and have not had any instruction on the subject in over 30 years! Any tips on navigating LU through this process would be helpful. They told me they would accpet college alg from both places. I only have four classes left to take in order graduate in May. I will take 3 through the school but want to take Math through Aleks or SL. This is my first time exploring creit this way and I am sorry I didnt hear of it sooner.

Not yet, but they're a partner of SL so you can transfer over as many credits as possible though SL. I've sent a test transcript with just one of my completed classes and it took a little while but now show on my transcript. I plan on sending more once I complete, hopefully, 60 credits by March.

Anybody help me with he aleks calculator and how to calculate z!!!! PLEASE
deucess Wrote:Yes, with the microsoft program.
I banged my head looking for my excel file that I used to send to the forum on my computer, but could not find it. I would have said something earlier, but you know some people in this forum can be verrrrrry judgemental. We're all here to help each other, but they don't see it that way. (off topic, me ranting). This morning I was sending a copy of the Ethic book that I combined to another forummer, then I realized I had back up my system to Google Drive.
Attached is my spreadsheet. I hope you can, you can complete all 3 statistics classes with it.
Steps:
0. Each of the tabs, match each topic/subtopic.
1. Control F, options, within Workbook.
2. type in the sentence, verify the questions matched, more than likely the numbers will not.
3. Go to the page/tab for you finding. input the number in RED. DO NOT touch the black.
4. Sections that asked you to populate 'z' or 't' IN ALEKS, you have to calculate them in Aleks, then go back and add the result in the spreadsheet.
3 sections I had a hard time with was Hypothesis, acceptance sampling (I did it, but I can't remember how), I can't remember the other.
Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.

OK, I need help with Aleks Statistics. I passed Pre-Calc in about 5-6 hours, the same day it was posted on my transcripts. College Algebra took about 4 days and was on my transcript the next day. I do not understand why I am stuck any suggestions. I am about ready to give up and move on...(My ACE transcripts)

Out of all the ALEKS courses statistics seems to give people the most trouble. One of the major roadblocks I remember is that 1 question will have multiple required answers, and if you misplace one decimal point the WHOLE question is wrong.
Best advice I can give you is to stick with it. You blew through algebra and pre-calc, now just buckle down and put a few extra hours into stats.

I'm having a similar experience. I had started Aleks statistics a year ago out of curiosity, but felt some of my math skills were rusty. So when I decided to start Aleks Statistics again this month, I did some Aleks beginning algebra to brush up my math skills. I think I spent about 15 hours on Algebra and got up to 80%. I then confidently started statistics and within the first 5 hours I realized it was going to be a lot of work! Today I assessed at 64 percent after 18-20 hours of time so far. My two biggest challenges have been, word problems and the calculator. Word problems have always been a struggle for me and in this case identifying which of 10+ different formulas I should use in a given situation is proving challenging. Also, a few times Aleks has told me to use the calculator to figure a problem, but other times, it assumed I already knew to use the calculator, such as finding the mean of a group of numbers, the standard deviation of a group of numbers using the "s" button, etc.
I have started printing the explanations, using the handy "print" link in the upper right hand corner. This has helped me immensely, so I can review them as I feel I need to, rather than wait for Aleks to have me review them only after failing to answer them correctly on the assesment. You've done so well with College Algebra and Pre-Calc, I'm sure you can make it through statistics!

I did pass today at 76% after about 20 total hours in statistics. Printing the explanations so I could review them daily was most helpful. Even with my strong math background I found this course on Aleks very challenging.

I have to say I'm impressed. Around 3pm I completed my assessment at 76% today in Introduction to Statistics. I then submitted my completed Aleks course to ACE today around 3:30pm MST and by 4:08pm I received a confirmation that they verified the transcript with ALEKS. Talk about fast!
I've requested it be sent electronically to TESC before TESC changes its mind about anything. I was surprised about the $40 ACE transcript / membership charge. But since I don't think I'll have a lot of other ACE classes I paid to have it sent. Cancelling my Aleks tomorrow. Well worth the 1 month paid.
