I'm planning on taking a couple Clep/DSST's to document credit in particular areas for work. I have finished my degree. Is credit banking the way to go? Specifically, if I need to pull a transcript, how will these show up?
Thank you.

Hi!
Check out the Student Policy Handbook p49:
https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_Coll...ndbook.pdf
"Transcript Update Service" and "Adding and Deleting Credits to the Official Transcript"
It says they will add earned credits to your transcript (on a separate section) even after graduation within certain policies for a fee. I would expect that the fee would be less than the credit bank cost.
Hope this helps!
Congratulations, again!

This may be a silly question, but I am not sure why you need to bank them.
can you not just take clep and dsst's as you want to and then have them to
send a transcript when you are ready to do so?
I am not familiar with credit banking, but we have been just testing and once we are ready to go to a particular school where the credits will be needed we will have the transcripts sent at that time.

Not a silly question at all. I've finished with my degree and have not yet made a decision regarding Grad school. I may never go, I just don't know at this point.
In the meantime, there are some credits I'd like to add to my transcripts to assist me with job promotion/opportunities. Hence my question about credit banking. As it stands, I don't need the bank. As an EC grad, apparently I'm able to have them updated to my transcript for a small fee.

It's worth pointing out that EC may be one of (only?) school that does this. It is standard protocol that once you earn a degree, that transcript is closed to additions and modifications. This appears to be legit- and everyone should know that TESC absolutely does not allow this, and I have never heard of any colleges allowing this. This is a BIG DEAL worth putting in the "pros" column when comparing pros and cons among schools.

Yes, I received a Transcript Update Request Form with my diploma, looks like it's $25 each time you want to add credits from CLEPS, DSSTs, or other credit sources, but that Excelsior's own courses and exams are added
for free.

Just to clarify. Credits are added below the conferral line in the non-applicable section of the transcript. Added credits has no impact on the GPA or degree once conferral as been completed.
As Jennifer pointed out, this is a HUGE plus and one of many reasons I have been very pleased with my experience with EC.
