I'm very tempted to try all the Google certs (the ones I haven't done) to see if I can do them during the free trial period.

Achieved the Google IT Support Professional one in three days just last week during my free trial. I'm pleasantly surprised that I can still access the material even after the trial is over.

I got that one back when it was 100% free on Coursera in 2020. I think it took a couple of months, mostly because I got busy with a bunch of other stuff at the time.

Yeah, I've been in IT for over 20 years and my day job is actually teaching IT to entry-level folks who want to get their CompTIA A+ certification. I also tutor some students who are self-studying for their Google IT certificate and since there's no instructor's module (that I know of), I decided to sign up as a student just to be able to look at the material. As I was in there messing around, I took a look at the quizzes and said "maybe I can earn this in the week," and I did.

It's actually really good material and I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to break into IT. I do NOT recommend blasting through it the way I did. I just wanted to see if I could finish it quickly (plus get the credit for my WGU degree).

Thank you for the background.   Now I won’t feel too bad when it takes me a LOT longer.  I am not looking to get in to IT, but most places I have worked do not have reliable IT folks.   So I figure it could be good stuff to know.  Plus I have two gamers in the house and work from home now.  Gotta solve our own IT issues!

There's also the Meta Social Media Marketing certificate - the Coursera cert is ACE recommended at 2cr LL in marketing, and if you took the certification exam from Meta (which may/may not be included in the Coursera course) that adds another 1cr LL in marketing. No clue how it transfers in anywhere (but I plan to figure out eventually).

Even if it's not included, $150 for 3 credits isn't that bad for self-paced. Or $99 if you get the certificate free and have to pay for the exam.

I've got my evaluation from TESU today, and the Google PM cerficiate came in as:

MAN-235 Intro to Project Management
MAN-437 Effective Project Management
MAN-438 Mastering Project Management


All of them 3 credits courses.

That's better than I would have guessed. How was the difficulty level?

Definitely better than I would have guessed, too. Too bad these don't fit into Business Core, but it's a great way for some BSBA students to meet UL requirements.

Since Project Management isn't a core course, it definitely won't fit there - but they're certainly going to work in the MAN area of the AoS.

They might also count toward the electives for Operations Management.

Even if these are not worth credit for a particular TESU AOS you're going for such as Marketing, it may be a good idea to take them for the knowledge if you intend to go into Project Management and also get a Coursera Cert in the process. I think it's a good ego boost in addition to a tiny cert credential (that might not have much weight in the Industry, it's still an entry pathway into the Field).

I see someone already let you know that the Google Data Analytics cert comes in as BUS 245 for UMPI but just FYI, it transferred in for me as 12 credits. I already had 90+ credits to transfer in but it might make a difference for anyone trying to fill lower level electives.

I can verify the coursea Google IT, UX, PM and data analytics certs are all doable in the trial period if you know the material.

Just curious if you've tried the Google IT Automation with Python course or any of the ACE-approved IBM courses?

If the google project management is coming in as

MAN-437 Effective Project Management
MAN-438 Mastering Project Management

Then they could just be tossed into a TESU Liberal Studies degree to fulfill 6 UL credits right?

I'm not sure about that. Most business courses will not work for Lib Studies. I think it's only Managerial Communications and Org. Psych that will work for both Business and Lib Studies.
