Call to the White House Comment Line:
The number is (202)456-1111
So, I called the White House Comment Line. I waited less than ten minutes to express my thoughts to a volunteer operator. She was very pleasant.
I simply stated that I am a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, a retired DoD civilian, and former Trump for President Campaign Volunteer.
I stated that I feel DEI/EO have been mischaracterized. I went on to say yesterday was Holocaust Remembrance Day. I said I heard the military a training regarding the Tuskegee Airmen had been cancelled. I noted that when I was a DoD civilian the DEI/EO Office would often coordinate a guest speaker for Holocaust Remembrance Day, and facilitate training such as the one on the Tuskegee Airmen. My favorite of Which being "A Letter from the Birmingham Jail." There is an incredible video, which I may have shared here, produced by the University of Texas Business School. I said such training is important for everyone. I stated that I thought Liberal Arts education, as taught at St. John's College, was good, and the President should become an advocate of such education. Finally I asked that the President declassify any information regarding the murder of Malcolm X, as he had with JFK, RFK, and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King.
I will soon follow-up with a letter to the White House.

This is an important requirement regarding government transparency, similar to the assassinations of JFK, RFK, and Martin Luther King.

As a currently serving First Class Petty Officer (HM1), I wholeheartedly agree with you. This whole DEI nonsense is a thinly veiled attempt to return to this country's darkest eras, where racism and misogny ran rampant, and everything was "Great", as long as you were a caucasian male. There's a reason why the vast majority of college educated people are more moderate and lean to the liberal side of the fence. It's hard to be racist when you are exposed to so many different cultures and people, and forced to understand them by wrting essay upon essay about them or by learning another culture's history or way of life.

WRONG
the ENTIRE point of DEI is to hire people based on the color of their skin or their preferred gender instead of their actual qualifications
> There's a reason why the vast majority of college educated people are more moderate and lean to the liberal side of the fence.
its because they're young and trying to build an identity
they're trying drugs, drinking, joining fraternities, experimenting with different religions and beliefs
they also start to question capitalism and start singing the praises of communism and socialism LOL

and if, while writing your essay, you question the professor's dogma you will receive a poor grade
what is there to question ?
the teaching that only white people can be racist because racism is tied to power
and since white people have all the power only white people can be racist
LOL
and going hand in hand with that is the teaching that ALL white people are racist because ALL white people partake and benefit from their white privilege in the white majority America
HA HA HA
DEI is racist
unless you're a liberal
then by definition it can't be racist because hiring a minority instead of a white person based purely on skin color is not racist because you can't be racist against white people
LOL

Actually, that’s a misrepresentation of what DEI is about. DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) is not about hiring based on race or gender instead of qualifications—it’s about ensuring that qualified individuals from all backgrounds have fair access and opportunities.
- Diversity promotes representation of different perspectives and experiences.
- Equity aims to remove systemic barriers so that everyone competes on a level playing field.
- Inclusion ensures that once hired, employees are valued and respected, leading to better retention and collaboration.
In reality, companies that prioritize DEI are not lowering their standards—they are expanding their talent pool. Numerous studies show that diverse teams perform better, make better decisions, and drive more innovation. For example:
- A 2018 McKinsey study found that companies in the top quartile for ethnic and gender diversity were 33% more likely to outperform their less diverse peers in profitability.
- The Harvard Business Review reported that diverse companies are 70% more likely to capture new markets.
Claiming that DEI is "racist" or "anti-white" is simply false. Fair hiring practices are about ensuring all qualified candidates—regardless of race, gender, or background—have the same shot. That’s not racism; that’s meritocracy.

Perhaps just a coincidence: Days after my call to the White House President Trump was promoting Black History Month.

I appreciate your willingness to find common ground. That’s something we could all use more of. However, I can’t overlook or downplay what’s happening right now—it’s deeply troubling, both legally and constitutionally.
Just this afternoon, Trump illegally fired the two Democratic commissioners on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)—Rebecca Kelly Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya. This violates the FTC's independent structure, where commissioners can’t be removed without cause. It’s a blatant attempt to consolidate power and weaken oversight.
Beyond that, there are so many other alarming examples:
- Weaponizing the DOJ by pushing for baseless prosecutions of political rivals.
- Firing inspectors general investigating corruption.
- Deploying federal agents against peaceful protesters, violating First Amendment rights.
- Repeated election interference, including pressuring Georgia officials to "find" votes.
- Cuts to the Department of Education, which will directly harm schools like mine by reducing vital services for students.
- Trade wars and reckless tariffs that hurt American farmers and businesses.
- Rolling back environmental protections, worsening pollution and climate risks.
- Weakening the FDA, making it easier for corporations to sidestep safety regulations.
- Targeting protesters at schools and univeristies, demonizing anyone speaking out against harmful policies.
- Erasing DEI terminology entirely—I’ve personally seen this happen, including the removal of the DEI name from the certificate program’s Facebook group I completed in 2021. It now simply says “Certificate” and as been archived.
The list goes on and on with new chaos every single day.
Even if there are some potential positives (though I’ve struggled to see them), they aren’t worth overlooking these serious violations of law and democratic principles. We can’t ignore dangerous precedents just because a few policies might be beneficial.
These actions aren’t about partisanship—they’re about preserving the integrity of our institutions. We can disagree on policies, but we should all be able to agree that no leader is above the law. Defending constitutional principles should be common ground for all Americans.
