6sigma white belt....where?
#1
I need to get certified as a 6sigma white belt. Where is the best free or cheap online option for that?

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I don't have a recommendation, but I would caution to be careful in regards to accreditation. Depending on your purpose, it may not matter, but not all providers are equal.

ASQ is generally considered the gold standard, but anyone can grant a "belt". Many/Most of the cheaper providers have their own accreditation (the equivalent to no accreditation in my opinion). ASQ is certainly not the only legitimate association that certifies, but I generally compare others against it. This link : Selecting a Six Sigma or a Lean Six Sigma Certification Program by Michelle Gabriel has some information on the belt providers section.

Mednat has made a good point regarding accreditation. If that doesn't matter, try looking at Groupon, or something like that. I've seen coupons for courses for Sigma 6 certifications.

I studied TQM in school and I didn't know about 6 sigma white belts until today! I knew the green and black belts.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Story is that I've been brought into a leadership development program at work, part of that is the requirement that I earn my white belt (at a minimum). I'm trying to get a jump on it, accreditation doesn't really matter so long as its legitimate.

They will be offering it at work, I'm just impatient. I'm pretty familiar with the concepts, studied it at WGU and in my undergrad but that didn't result in the white belt....so gotta get it. Nova University offers them locally every few months, I just missed their in person 4 hour class though.

I'll check all the suggestions....thanks!

Does your company have online training resources? I know DoD pays for skillsoft and they have a lot of online IS training courses. I remember six sigma was in there. If you company has skillsoft or a similar, that could be a free way for you to knock it out.
