Confused about UMPI 2nd degree
#1
I'm just curious and can't seem to find a simple answer. Does UMPI let you complete a degree and then enroll again for a 2nd separate degree, or is that not allowed?

You can do that. Need to complete residency requirements and major requirements obv

Basically, Yes and no, depending on what your first degree is... Your previous post indicated you're looking at the BABA, if you're going for another BA or BABA, you're good. If you're going for a BAS or BLS, that must be your first degree, you can go for a BA or BABA afterwards... If you went BA or BABA first, then you're not able to get the BAS or BLS as the second degree, it must be the first.

So, in brief, if you do BAS or a BLS with minor, then BABA with a concentration, you're good. If you go for a BA, or a BABA, then another BA or BABA, you're also good. But if you went for a BA or BABA, and then looking at a BAS or BLS with a minor, you can't, it's not allowed as the second or subsequent degree. And yes, your first degree and second degree has residency requirements.

You can't complete 2 BABA's. It's the same degree!

I wonder if the BABA concentration with 2 of the MAOL is 'different' enough with another BABA with 2 other classes that go towards the MAOL would work... For the time being, you can do the BAS/BLS as 1st degree, BA/BABA as 2nd degree. Another option is a BA then BABA, or BABA then BA, and a BA major plus a different BA with another major. Again, anyways, the BAS/BLS has to be the first degree...

You can't complete 2 BABAs no matter what. The only difference would be the concentration which is at max 24 credits. The major will have already been completed and that is why you can't get 2 BABAs. Just like you can't 2 BAs in English. Different concentrations don't make it a different major.

If one wants to complete a BA and a BABA, they can do both at the same time. With the BAS/BLS you have to graduate and reapply for the second bachelor's degree. You don't do this if you go the BA/BABA route.

Remember, I did the BLS and BABA. Been down this road.

Thanks. What if the first degree was English or Psych and the 2nd was a BABA?

Yeah, you should be fine, people go from BA to BABA or vice versa, it doesn't really matter which one you do first...

I was thinking of doing a BABA and then a BA. Do you think it is better to do them sequentially or to double major and do them at the same time? I know both are options at UMPI, but not sure if one is better than the other in terms of UMPI graduation requirements, etc.

If you don't do both degrees together, then you have to complete an additional 30 credits at UMPI.
