Colleges besides TESU, COSC, Excelsior, WGU that accept ACE

There are so many, it's hard to list them all.  4000+ schools take AP, 2000+ take CLEP (so definitely not "most"), but hundreds if not a thousand take ACE.

But I don't think we have anywhere near to a comprehensive list of schools that will take ACE - and as soon as it was posted, it would be outdated (either we'd find someone new who would take it and wasn't on the list, or we'd find out that a school listed stopped taking ACE.

Few colleges will accept all the CLEPS.  Many will only take a few CLEP or need a very high score (not just passing) and or refuse english/writing/science (no lab), etc etc..  I have seen all of this.  I bet its only a few hundred colleges (not 2000+) that are really CLEP useful for folks here wanting to test out.  2000+ is a marketing gimmick.

With CLEP, it's easier to determine acceptance. The CLEP site has a section where you browse the school names or search. Then upon clicking, it shows every exam and how many credits the school gives. I did find that some of that information is outdated, however (with the school telling me that info was many years old). So there are no guarantees, but it gives a good idea.

It's still why the Big 3 are the "Big 3" with being able to transfer in 114 total applicable credits; Civilian ACE, Military ACE, DSST/Dantes, CLEP, ECE/UExcel, and many other non-traditional credits not listed here being accepted in extremely high rates. 


I have a 5-year agreement (military SOC agreement) with Coastline Community College (now called Coastline College ) and they allow 40 SH of non-trditional course.  This is one of the best CC's I have seen.  

Complete at least 60 semester hours (SH):
*A maximum of 40 semester hours may be awarded for non-traditional coursework i.e. military experience, CLEP/DSST exams or Excelsior exams, etc.
*At least 12 semester hours must be earned at Coastline to establish residency.
*transfer in 18 SH.

I did not say 2000+ take ALL CLEP's, I said "2000+ take CLEP" meaning that many will take SOME CLEP exams.  I didn't stipulate scores.  I also did not say that you could completely test out of a degree from those 2000 schools.  I stand by my statement that 2000+ schools take CLEP.

The OP never asked about any of that by the way, they just wanted to know if there is a list of all schools that take ACE credit.

yeah, for example, the University of Michigan which is supposedly one of the best public universities in the world even grants clep credit. But they only grant it for four tests, but the weird thing is all 4 of these tests you need below a 50.

By law, almost all Florida public colleges accept most CLEP exams with a score of 50, up to 45 credits.This includes University of Florida, FSU, UCF,etc.

That might be towards a 120 SH BS (45/120)?  Is that the same to an AS degree (45/60) in Flordia?

An AS degree would be awarded by a community college (probably not an option at UF, FSU, UCF, etc.) and some may award 45/60 credits.Here is a link to TCC

I've been researching this in NY. Four yr. SUNY in one city accepts most ACE . Its partner 2+2 Community College wont, ridiculous. It seems to boil down to the college's particular tansfer committee or dept chairs, I'm afraid.
