Thanks for the link. I tried to install it, but oddly enough, it said that it is not compatible with 64 bit windows systems. Anyone else having this problem?

Bassmanj Wrote:What would you have scored the two essays you wrote in the real test? When you took the test, was there a stopping point after the multiple choice section? Ie. can you get yourself prepared for the essays by writing your outline structure on scrap paper, and then clicking continue to move to the essay prompt. Personally I probably would have scored each of them as a 3. But then again I never had the time to go through and proofread it as a whole. I proofread it as paragraphs, but never as a whole, cause I ran out of time. I believe that there WAS a stoping point after the multiple choice section (99% sure)... and there is also a stopping point BETWEEN essays... So you could write out your outline structure before you push next. The format shouldn't be a big deal during the multiple choice section... You can't use any key commands during the essay and are very limited with what you can do... (basically, besides typing, you can copy and paste by pushing a button, and that's it).

dcan, are you talking about the CLEP College Composition exam here? So, would I be correct then, to assume that you can pick a general topic, and then they give you your essay question???

It could be a broad topic and you might have to pick a specific facet to write about, or they could give you a more specific thing to argue for or against.

mmb123 Wrote:dcan, are you talking about the CLEP College Composition exam here? So, would I be correct then, to assume that you can pick a general topic, and then they give you your essay question??? They provide essay questions for both essays: College Composition | CLEP One is an open ended question where you can bring in your own life experience and the other is a question which uses two short passages and you must pick a side to argue (and the second one requires citations back to the passages). If you search this site you'll find a lot of great info, just make sure you avoid anything that is too old, the exam was changed in 2010 to the current format and it went from a single essay to two different essays. The old content may help, but look for content for the new "College Composition" exam instead of the old "English Composition" exam. if you need help with the formatting of the essays you might want to check out the College Board study guide ($10) or the CLEP Official Study Guide (~$25), both offer an in depth look at the scoring and provide a sample question with sample essays. In my experience with the exam and from what others have said has been shown that they care more about how you organize your thoughts then the length, both of my essays were five paragraphs but I made sure the spelling and grammar were great too.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.
