It's just about finding a course within the CSU/CC system here, nothing to do with alternative course providers at all.
It wouldn't really work as an expansion, but if each state did something like it, I guess that might work. Trying to tie together thousands of schools might be difficult, but tying together the 23 CSU's with 113 CC's here would work well. They really SHOULD be working together.
I assume they want their courses added to it as alternatives
Like I said, it has nothing whatsoever to do with alternative course providers at all. Nothing. Nada. It's a search engine within the system.
yes, i said I assume they want it to be added to the system at some point. you're saying its not that way now. the two things are not mutually exclusive, thanks to the magic of programming, things that are not there now might be added later
Except that no CC's or CSU's accept ACE credit (except CLEP for CSU's and CLEP/DSST for CC's). So it's not a matter of just adding them as alternate course providers, but actually changing the entire system for both types of schools.
I honestly don't see this happening any time soon (or really ever).

I have no idea why they did that, I never said whether or not I thought it was a good idea or not for them to come on board, I've just lived here my entire life, and seen change in the university system here move at the speed of molasses, so it's my opinion that this would take a VERY long time, if ever, before they accepted ACE credits other than CLEP or DSST.
But go ahead and LOL, and if you can show me that I'm wrong in the next couple of years, that would be awesome. I'll give you all the credit you deserve.
