Online Course Finder launching. Study.com just RT'd it so I know they're looking at it. RE: Online Course Finder launching. This might interest you if you're in California - dfrecore - 05-30-2018 I wonder why Study.com is looking at it. It's just about finding a course within the CSU/CC system here, nothing to do with alternative course providers at all. It wouldn't really work as an expansion, but if each state did something like it, I guess that might work. Trying to tie together thousands of schools might be difficult, but tying together the 23 CSU's with 113 CC's here would work well. They really SHOULD be working together. RE: Online Course Finder launching. This might interest you if you're in California - triforce828 - 05-30-2018 Isn't there already a tool that does something to figure out transfer credits between CCs and other schools in CA: http://www.assist.org/web-assist/welcome.html Edited to add: I guess the big difference is this Quottly platform saves students the effort of enrolling at (different) schools offering the courses they need.,. RE: Online Course Finder launching. This might interest you if you're in California - dfrecore - 05-30-2018 Yes, I use ASSIST when helping people figure out which courses they should take when they are going to go to a CC, and then transfer to a particular CSU or UC school. This tool that they're discussing actually helps you find a course that you need at one of the 113 CC's or 23 CSU's in the term you want to take it. RE: Online Course Finder launching. I assume they want their courses added to it as alternatives RE: Online Course Finder launching. Like I said, it has nothing whatsoever to do with alternative course providers at all. Nothing. Nada. It's a search engine within the system. RE: Online Course Finder launching. Nothing. Nada. It's a search engine within the system. Quottly, the service provider, does searching over a much wider pool of schools. It would make sense for Study.com to either be listed as an alternate source, or to place ads on relevant searches. Especially if they could target students from schools that take their credits.
