I dialed and pressed '1' for assistance and to my surprise, a woman got on the phone almost immediately and greeted me with a very pleasing demeanor. She was both courteous and professional. It was a pleasure to speak with her. The questions I had were answered promptly and without any pressure to enroll. Granted my questions were simple, so we'll see how it goes later when I have meatier ones to ask.You work for them don't you ? hilarious

While my sonar was 'passive", I apparently rec'd a false echo. Concerned about this development, I decided to go "active" in order to detect and classify. Upon pinging, I rec'd a totally different signature. I also learned I had found the Battle group, albeit a small one. Once you decide to go active, you receive clearer information AND they are on to you, if they weren't already. This is why sonar is installed on "noisy platforms". Helmsmen, come left 5 degrees, engines ahead full'', indicate 125 RPM for 25 knots.
Couldn't I have just said sorry for the confusion?................Nah, this is more picturesque.
