COSC BSBA Course Help
#1
Attached is my COSC Advising Worksheet

I am in need of the following requirements, from what I can gather, and would like suggestions as to the fastest way to get the credit (DSST and CLEP are not options anymore due to testing locations not being convenient).

Oral Communication

Organizational Behavior

7 Upper Level Courses (2 of those need to be in General Business AOS)

As a side note, I have also taken the following Study.com courses (thinking they would transfer over as UL credit, however, COSC jus recently changed their course transfers:
Business 105:  Labor Relations
Business 106:  Human Resource Management
Business 107:  Organizational Behavior
Business 111:  Principles of Supervision
Education 210:  Technology in the Classroom
Psychology 105:  Research Methods in Psychology

Thank you in advance!!!

Jody

Straighterline or Davar Academy are good for oral communication or organizational behavior.Davar is inexpensive and also has upper level courses, assuming Charter Oak still honors them.

Did you show advising a screen shot or forward or confirmation that the courses would count UL. Maybe they could change it depending on when you completed the course.

Also does the capstone count as 3 of UL credits?

Yes, they know when I took the Study.com courses and still denied them because I wasnt enrolled and their policy changed from the time I asked them and when I submitted the finished courses.

Yes, the capstone counts, however, I already figured that out of the equation and would still need 7 UL courses

Yeah I'd definitely suggest Davar. They have upper level organizational behavior and many other upper level business. Only 100 for two courses. And it's all an exam no silly quizzes.

Do you happen to know when they changed these, and where the info is?

Yes, they literally just changed them last month and had Study.com update their site due to me, while I was going thru this process.  It was such a let down!  If I would have enrolled in the spring when I asked and received confirmation that these courses would be accepted, I would only have my Capstone left.  However, since I finished in July and was ready to enroll, they literally just made the change to not accept them.

With Davar, is the whole course dependent on just one test?  I have horrible anxiety and liked Study.com due to the fact there wasn't so much pressure placed on only 1 exam.

I honestly think it would be easier to finish up a COSC and go back to study.com to do it, you could be done with what your missing in two months (as there is a cap of 5 exams per month), you could get all the UL you need for COSC

At least two of the courses you've taken have UL versions (which mean most of the work would already been done - I did not look at each of what you took, so it may be more than the two I list below)

Business 106:  Human Resource Management - COSC LL (you already did this)
Business 306: Strategic Human Resources Management COSC UL = HRM 310 Human Resource Management

Business 107:  Organizational Behavior COSC LL (you already did this)
Business 307: Leadership & Organizational Behavior COSC UL = MGT 315 Organizational Behavior & YOU NEED THIS ONE

Also, Study.com's Communications 101: Public Speaking comes into COSC as Public Speaking, so I'd think that would cover your Oral Communication requirement that you're missing.

Even with the cost of 're-doing' things through Study.com will be much faster and cheaper than the Cornerstone alone at TESU.

Thank you!  I was thinking finishing up there would be cheaper, but at this point, the fastest route is the priority...and from what you laid out, COSC seems to be the faster as well.

Thank you again for your help!!!
