Good evening, I hope everyone is having a good day.
I spoke with my CC advisor, and I believe I will be able to convert my two B-s to pass/fail credit, resulting in a 4.0 GPA (hopefully) by the end of the semester.
Should I go ahead with it? She expressed concern about my transfer school not accepting it and forcing me to retake it (?) (ENG1 & 2), but I'm sure this is not the case at TESU, but hopefully not grad school.
Should I keep the letter grade or convert it? What are the benefits and drawbacks?
Thanks

Did you ask if a pass/fail will convert to a 4.0? I wouldn't assume that a pass/fail class will give a 4.0 for passing.

I think the OP is saying he/she has a 4.0 outside of the 2 courses that are B-'s.

I would not recommend converting your Eng 1 & 2 to a pass/fail from a CC. They are truly core Gen Eds and many schools will prefer the grade, especially from a CC and there is no shame in a B-. Plus once you transfer your credit to TESU, or other school, your (manufactured) CC 4.0 won't even be calculated into your 4 year degree GPA.

This isn't exactly true. TESU won't include it in their institutional GPA and it won't matter on that particular transcript (which will generally be all you need for the rare employer who actually cares and wants to see a transcript or GPA), but the grade doesn't go away. If you were to apply to grad school for example, the grad school will generally want the transcript for all schools you went to, and will recalculate the GPA based on all grades you recieved, at both TESU and the CC. they want the full picture.
That being said, I agree that it's probably better to leave the grade as it stands, not go P/F.

I'm going to take the majority advice and leave the letter grade.
Thanks everyone
