"but I bet it's hard to not pass one."
haha I know so I'm pretty much an idiot. I was embarrassed to even look the proctor in the eyes after the test.
I read most posts on this forum regarding this test before I took it. I don't remember one person who said they failed in all those posts. I guess when I tell people I am bad at math I really mean it....

Hey, TREK234, don't feel too bad.....I took college mathematic's today, and didn't pass either, lol. I got a 45. I am pretty disappointed, because I feel like had I had a bit more time (I was down to a minute per question on the last 15 and finished with 2 unanswered questions
-_____-') I may have squeaked by with like a 50, lol. Now I have 9 weeks of suffering through algebra to get the required math creds I need. >.< I've never really been much of a math person, but I am generally a good test-taker, and I did study (though I definitely could have put in more effort on some categories). Honestly, if I could do it over from about a week ago, I'd put more emphasis on my weaker areas in math rather than hoping and crossing my fingers me knowing functions, set theory, etc. would be enough to make up on my weaker points, lol. And the calculator threw me off too! I wish there had been a hand one. But yeah, I can relate to how much of a let down it is to not pass....I REALLY wanted to! I felt like I was doing a walk of shame on my way out.
Look at it this way, I'm sure there are versions of the test others have gotten that you could pass. Depending on the questions and percentages of each category included. That how I've rationalized it for myself, because I know I understand a decent amount of the concepts. I feel like, for the first time, the CLEP was harder than the studying material! Don't feel too bad....the boat's not empty, we are in the same boat!
CLEPS passed:
Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
American History Part I
English Composition Modular
DANTES passed:
Public Speaking
Organizational Behavior

Trek234 and nylonsmile, I'm not sure if you've had a look at Aleks? The learning process may feel a bit slow and very iterative at times, using that website, but it's a great tool for building confidence. The beauty of it is that you can start at any level, you don't need to have a solid math background. Aleks will assess your current math skills and recommend a starting point. It used to be 20 bucks a month, all you can eat formula, I'm not sure if things have changed now. You can even earn college credit for subjects completed (or rather 70% completion, I don't remember) through ACE documentation. Plenty of threads on that subject on these boards if you're interested.
Excelsior BSB - MIS concentration (119 credits in the bank)
