I see lots of recommendations to first acquire as many credits as possible 'before' applying to schools but how do you know for certain what you will need before applying? I had applied so that I could figure out what credits would be accepted and what they would be applied towards. At that point I figured I would either take all remaining courses through that college or outside sources. While I sit here and wait for the colleges to get back to me I would like to just start knocking some stuff out now. I found the below plan for TAMUC but I am unsure which classes I really need and I would hate to waste time and money on a class not needed.

That's why you want to create multiple spreadsheets of degrees from different institutions you're interested in, you cross reference all the Coursera, Sophia.org, Study.com, and other alternative ACE credits that can go towards those degrees. Most of them will have the same classes for general education/electives, thus you can probably do up to 90 credits of ACE and it'll go towards all those degree plans. You'll still need to complete the 30 credits residency at the institution of choice afterwards to finish off the degree... Main thing you want to do is have a degree plan ready and work towards that spreadsheet illustrating requirements...

I guess what I was saying is I am not 100% certain which of my previous college credits will be accepted. I will start to build the spreadsheet based on what I assume will transfer from my transcripts.

Nothing is 100% certain and that is the problem. Even the transfer credit friendly schools like TESU and Excelsior appear to have a motive (money) to get you to take as many courses with them as possible by denying credit transfers. This is why they are reluctant to put up transfer equivalencies for sites like Study.com and Sophia. Regardless you should have no problem getting 90 credits transferred to them, it is the last 23-24 credits that become tricky.

In your case you already had many (previously) acquired credits. I would wait for the evaluations. Enjoy the holiday season while you wait. Things will move quickly in January once you have your evaluations complete, then you can make a choice and move forward. You'll likely be a 2025 graduate even with the waiting now. You already took the most important step, which is applying and sending transcripts.

We generally recommend applying first to see where you stand. Most schools will accept transfers at any time, so there's usually no advantage to waiting (except Excelsior because they now charge for extra evaluations). WGU does not allow transfers after you enroll, so regardless of when you apply, make sure not to start at WGU until all your transfers are complete.

I know it's not much, all things considered, but from what I've seen it's actually pretty good for WGU. The key thing about WGU is that it's easier to accelerate than probably any other school because of their system and information available on reddit, etc. I completed almost half of my degree, I think 17 courses, in two months, including several third-party IT certifications. And there are probably more courses that you can transfer from Sophia and Study.com, so you could be over 50% completed within a month or so.

This may seem like a sales pitch for WGU, but really, I want to offer a more complete picture of your options. It's difficult to make an apples-to-apples comparison of different schools/degrees, so more information is always better to help find the right fit. Best of luck on the remaining evals!

I am sorry but that is absolutely ridiculous considering you have 107 RA community college credits and they could not even give you 60 credits in transfer? I will be honest, there is no way I would waste my time with WGU when you have that many credits available to transfer. Your best choices as many have said are:

UMPI BAS (Choice of Minor)

I would also look at:

TESU BALS (Concentrations Available)

I also suspect Excelsior may take the most credits but UMPI will likely be cheaper.
