BS in Computer Science
#1
I have 3 years left in the Military (Navy) before I reach high year tenure and am forced to retire.  I may be able to get a 2 year extension, but I want to get a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Data Analytics so that I can get a MS in Data Analytics in due time.

What can I do to minimize the time required?  I know I still have a lot of work to accomplish, but I am taking at least an hour a day and can dedicate 4 hours a day on the weekend.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Would suggest filling out the rest of the template, so folks can give better advice - here's the link for the instructions: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

Top of mind, SNHU or TESU come to mind. SNHU has a BS in CS, while TESU has a BA in CS. SNHU has 8-week terms and is more writing-intensive, while TESU allows you more ability to work at your own pace, but has traditional semesters of 12 weeks for classes that you take with them. You can use Sophia and Study.com for both to accelerate your degree, along with certificates like Google Data Analytics through Coursera.

I will speak from an ex-military standpoint and as a father of two kids serving.

1. Take advantage of your free DSSTS, and CLEP's first test is free.
2. Begin using your UL TA benefits from the military while on active duty.
3. Knock some of the required classes vis Sophia
4. TESU is very military-friendly, and your TA will cover that. Pick classes UL and cannot be tested out.

For my kids, they did this Pierpont Associates, then a degree from TESU, and now they are working on a double major from TESU. Just plan it out and execute the plan.

For active duty, TESU is hands down the quickest, easiest and cheapest path to a CS degree. You can then plan to use your education benefits to get the master's.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)

Ding ding, for now, I would fill in the addendum and template to provide a better overall picture of your scenario. Yes, the TESU BACS and BA Math might be a good double major for you if you're not math phobic, another option is the double degree of BACS/BSBA in CIS or another area of study. If you're looking at Data Analytics or Data Science, you don't really need a Data Analytics/Science certificate at the undergraduate level to get to where you want...

What I usually recommend people is to get a balanced mix/match trifecta of certs, degree, experience, by getting Coursera Google/IBM certs that provide ACE credit towards the Bachelors at TESU, and these can be certs that deal with Data Analytics/Data Science, you can also add to that with the inexpensive EdX/HarvardX Professional Certificate in Data Science (9 courses). You'll have certs/experience after you complete these Data related certificates.
