BAS minor class selection
#1
Hey Everyone,

After waiting on my Pierpont BOG AAS, I've finally enrolled at UMPI in the BAS degree program with (tenatively) a triple minor in PM, MIS, and BA.

I am working on my Sophia Spanish 1 class and have already completed the Biology classes required for the GEC, just waiting on them to be applied to my credits.

I have been working on a list of all the classes I can take that will fulfill multiple requirements and was wondering if anyone has tried this degree plan before.

A transfer credit report is attached as well as a spreadsheet with all the classes for the minors.

My question is: Does anyone have any particular recommendations for which of these classes I should take and in any particular order?

Obviously, taking the ones that fulfill multiple requirements across the minors is best, but im not opposed to taking stuff outside of that, including for the MAOL down the line.

Ah, now I understand. There is no Business Admin minor (it is a major for the BABA, which then has minors such as what you've listed) - in your case it would be a Management minor. I thought you may have had outside credits that fit into one of the non-YourPace minors UMPI offers for traditional on-campus students.

Hmm. Either one of us is mistaken or something has changed with the program, as I have a business admin minor listed in my academic section. I've added a picture of this.

If this BA minor does not work within the YourPace program, would Jessica have added it or is it just something they allow with the expectation that you have outside credit?

You can have any minor that's offered at UMPI added to your Your Pace degree, even if they're not part of the Your Pace offerings. The only thing is, you need to transfer all the classes into the degree if the classes are not offered on the Your Pace program. I mentioned this when I created the minor inquiry thread.

Here's the UMPI BA minor and the requirements, it uses all the lower level classes and all of them can be done in the Your Pace program if you're missing anything, otherwise, you'll have to transfer them in using an ACE option such as Sophia.org or Study.com and/or using the community college, challenge exams, etc.

Actually, there IS a BA minor. It's technically an on campus minor and not available in YourPace. However, there have been several people who transferred in credit for it and were able to graduate with this minor.

Well, that clears that up - it would be a non-YourPace option. I knew it wasn't a UMPI YourPace minor, but my mistake of it being a minor option at UMPI. As I stated, I have seen quite a few (recently) transfer in credits that to add UMPI traditional campus minors.
