Here's an excellent resource:
UMPI BABA Project Management Degree Plan
Highlights all the key transfers to UMPI through Sophia. One new addition is the Introduction to Chemistry and Introduction to Chemistry + Lab. If you can knock out those two courses, it can replace having to do Biology + Lab at SDC.

Because you already have bio with lab, you don't need to take a lab science from Sophia or SDC. But you do need a foreign language. If you're fluent in something aside from English, you can take an ACTFL exam. Or just do Spanish I at Sophia.

Good catch @rachel83az
To max out Sophia, don't waste your $$ on ACTFL and knock out Spanish 1, which is very doable in the time frame you listed. Having done ACFTL, I can confirm the testing is straightforward for those with a strong base in a second language. I took three exams with them, and even though at UMPI you will only use 3 for Project Management, you can earn a ton of credits, perhaps for future use in a second degree in English or Foreign Language.

If you are going for the Project Management (PM) major/minor at UMPU do not take the Sophia PM course. It has been reported here numerous times the the PM courses at UMPI all build off each other.

I don't think they bring Sophia's course in as an equivalency any longer - they now just bring it in as an elective.
OP: It's unclear if you are getting the BABA w/Project Management concentration, or the BLS w/Project Management minor?

Either way, just in case, don't take the Sophia PM course. There are plenty of other courses that can be used for elective credit.

Does anyone know if UMPI will give credit for the PMP certification?

Read this a lot, and it may be the case for some; my sister finished her Project Management degree by doing the following:
Sophia Project Management - BUS 141: Introduction to Project Management with Microsoft Projects
GOOG 0003: Google Project Management Professional Certificate - BUS 400: Project Management Applications
BUS 401: Advanced Project Management Applications II with Professor Carolyn Dorsey was one of her favorite courses finished over the weekend with an A.
We feel that the Coursera certification brings additional value outside the degree requirements; someone else may consider this the long way home.

Check out the UMPI BABA Project Management Degree Plan. There is a clear breakdown of the certifications approved for the degree. My sister pioneered several of them with a lot of effort working with the transfer committee and is excited to see those who follow get some wins because of it.

(01-06-2023, 07:31 PM)KSoul Finished sophia work, now my question is should I move my focus to study.com? I am a little worried about trying coursera (not big on coding or backdoor cs stuff) Wrote: (01-06-2023, 04:26 PM)rachel83az Wrote: Either way, just in case, don't take the Sophia PM course.
