Ok, friends, the my next target of opportunity is: Analyzing & Interpreting Literature.
I begin study today, and will plan to take the test in 2-4 weeks, depending on my progress. Any advise on study material will be appreciated. I have the 2010 CLEP guide, and plan on Peterson's Practice tests. Any other material you could recommend?

Well, when I took the A&I Lit test, I used the REA book almost exclusively. I found the review section informative and the practice tests helpful, if more difficult than the real deal. You may be able to obtain it through your library system.
Otherwise, I would say that you have enough to pass. Just study up on your
literary terms.

Lol you dont need to study for this test. Can you read a poem, and then tell what it's about? That's the entire test.

This is probably one of the easiest, if not THE easiest, CLEP test out there...so don't kill yourself studying for this. But I do recommend the REA book...that was all I used to study (and I didn't even study the book like I should have), and I got a 73 on the test.

I think some people are oversimplifying this test and suggesting not studying at all they may be doing this person a disservice. The test is not that difficult but we are not all the same and if they don't study and fail it would be because people here gave bad advice.
I would read through poems, short stories, etc. and definitely brush up on your literary terminology. The test has questions in regards to literary terms and how they relate to the text you just read.
You probably shouldn't study for two weeks but I would spend at least a day or two going over the terminology and how it applies to the literature. REA is a great resource as was suggested above. Good luck!

Thanks SoupBone. I know my limitations, so I plan to study as you suggest. I always seem to test lower than my practice scores, so study it is for me. There is not much help for reading and understanding literature, but terminology is an area that I can brush up on/in...

I took the test last thursday and barely passed. BUT passed! The one thing I would recommend is that you get in the habbit of reading various forms of poetry, the style of grammer and punctuation that is used is way different from how we write today. also there is meaning that can be an issue to detect. practice tests are good for that. REA and petersons practice tests are great.

Sorry to plead ignorance, but what is "REA" book???? Where do I get it???
