Hello,
I couldn't find a specific thread on this so here goes.
Does anyone know if there's a limit on the amount of courses you can take through the American Dream Academy program? I just signed up and I'm having a hard time picking one certificate? I'm working on a budget.
Kind regards,
Vintage Jacket

As far as I'm aware, there is no limit! If TADA allows you to take the certificate, you can take the certificate! You have 6 months to go wild and finish whatever they have to offer.

I did all of them, so it is possible.
It wasn't really worth it to me personally to do all of them though. I found the project management one the most useful, the others are kind of meh. The IT one I think gained me one class at TESU that does not "fit" anywhere other than the electives, and I think I learned more about IT from the Cybersecurity one. The data science one was below the level of a first college course on the topic though TESU gave multiple classes for it so it is a win credit-wise.
It depends on what you want to use them for as to whether they will all be worth it for you. Pierpont gives 12 credits for the IT one so it does have greater utility elsewhere. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't spent the time working on all of them when there are other options, like using the free trials to knock out the IBM certs, the WIT Cloud Computing one, the two SAS programming ones etc. I got distracted by the shiny free ADA options just because they were there and lost a month or so ^^'

That is great news! Thank you both!
@rachel83az, Woohoo! I'm looking forward to completing at least three of them.
@sarahmac, Totally agree with you. At first, I wanted to take all of them, but then I figured I'd tame it down a bit. I think I'm just excited to see such a great opportunity.

Here's the wiki illustrating the ones with TADA, I would pick the ones that interest you most and start from there, do the "easier" ones first and work your way up to the "harder ones": https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera

Is there a 6 month limit? Or is that just an average of how long it may take?

You have 6 months to finish as many certificates as they offer and that you are able to.

You have 6 months to finish as many certificates as they offer and that you are able to. So if it's reached the 6 months and I haven't finished, do they just close it? Can I just re-register? I haven't been able to find this info.

We found out about this a month ago for the Coursera/TADA offerings, so no one here has taken that 6 month time frame to complete the most they can. What you should focus on is not look at the time frame itself but set yourself a schedule so you can finish the ones that have ACE recommendation for credit first and work on them only.
If you have the extra energy, time, then finish the others afterwards. There are some that require more knowledge than others, take the ones you think are easiest for you and work your way up. For further info, it may be best for you to contact them directly and help us further by providing their response to your inquiry.
Here's what I found on their site on the FAQ's, you can extend the 6 months an extra 2 if needed. Again, try to complete the ones that will benefit you most, skip the non ACE recommended for credit for now. See below, I copy/pasted from the link on the first post and went directly to their FAQ.
"How much time do I have to complete the program?
You have six months to complete the requirements. It is estimated that you will need to commit approximately five to ten hours a week to complete the program in that time period. Everyone who needs more time will be granted two additional months."

I do not think that you can re-register for TADA once your 6 months are up. If you are very close to finishing a desired certificate, however, you could do the 7-day free trial and/or pay for 1 month. Depending on where you want to use the credits, spending ~$50 for 3-12 credits isn't bad at all.
