Aleks College Algebra vs Trig
#1
This question is aimed at anyone who has taken both through Aleks. Would you consider the Trig significantly more difficult than the College Algebra. I know it varies by individual, but I am curios about what you think. I just passed the College Algebra CLEP with a 54 and scored a 25% on my pretest for Trig. It took me about a week to get to 62% on Aleks Algebra, but I wanted the CLEP on my transcript because more schools recognize it.

Anyway, how would you compare College Algebra and Trig on Aleks?

Thanks

I took ALEKS college algebra, but I took the precalculus course instead of the trig course. However, I believe trig and precalc are fairly similar. I didn't find it very difficult at all. In fact, the majority of the precalc class was just a bunch more algebra. There were a LOT more topics in the precalc pie, so it did take a bit longer for me to finish.

If I'm remembering right, it took me about a week each to pass Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra. It took about 10 days to pass Statistics, and a good two weeks to pass precalc. I didn't think any of them were particularly difficult --- just time consuming.

I found College algebra pretty easy. It took only just few hours to complete this course. Trigonomety & Stats took more time.

Same here. I passed college algebra on my initial assessment, I believe the highest I got on trig was 55% before I quit.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I started Trig today with a 25% initial score. After 8 hours of work, I am sitting at 49%. I have a feeling things are going to slow down significantly going forward.
