So it took me 4.5 months but I finally reached that 70% mark on pre-calculus.
Those three credits are securely stored with ACE :hurray:
Here's my opinion on it in retrospect,
ALEK's is very difficult. It's an AI program that is designed to assess you cumulatively on a somewhat random basis. This can be frustrating as you will always be tested on material you don't know in addition to what you do know.
There is no place holder. This means on any given assessment you can lose ground for any little silly mistake you make. Many people go backwards and forwards in the course. This depends a lot on how well you retain your topics. I personally have only gone backwards once but I've heard some real horror stories.
The key to success in ALEK's is to work on the program EVERY day. If you don't stay on it, you will not progress.
Takes discipline but it can definitely be done. If you're like me, the CLEP just wasn't an option due to my lack of mathematical pre-knowledge I could've never passed it. I just had to take a course to learn it.
Good Luck!

Aleks Statistics was a thorn in my side for months. I had several stops and starts and that is not a good idea. Just yesterday I was able to cancel my Aleks account that was a good feeling.
Aleks serves a purpose for those of us who want to learn math, but at our own pace. Before Aleks I had not had a Math class in over 25 years I never could have done this by CLEP Aleks was a love hate relationship but it got the job done.

For the benefit of people who happen across this thread later, ALEKS goes a lot better used in combination with other resources. ALEKS is a little thin on explanation and conceptual understanding. It's annoying that what explanation is offered only comes after you've already got the problem wrong. An Idiot's Guide, videos such as the learner.org series, or even a regular textbook can make ALEKS more rewarding and probably faster.
Also, I use OneNote software in place of printing all the explanations. It saves paper and makes the notes easier to organize IMHO.

Excellent advice, I used several different calculus textbooks as well as YouTube significantly throughout the course.

I hate to say it but Aleks rocks.
I just assessed at 72% in statistics and am going to figure out how to get credit for it.
I signed up for Aleks last weekend so I have had a good 8 days to finish this thing and I was in SanDiego for most of last week and couldn't login.
If you want to get through fast, take lots of notes which means clicking Explain, then print and save to a pdf or a msft format on disk. Make sure and save a couple variations of the same type of problem just so you have full coverage.
Use these when doing the assessment and you will be fine.

Cookderosa - just a guess but are you a cook at Ponderosa?
We used to call it Pondo back in the day when my friend's brother worked there.
