My sons are working on a few Straighterline classes, which means I'll have their credit recorded on an ACE transcript. Well, I found out a nifty thing that I wanted to share.
Straighterline (along with Sophia, edX, Pearson, Saylor) are members of the Alternative Credit Project. The Alternative Credit Project We have talked about that here a bit, but in short, it's a partnership with colleges.
So, my sons are possibly going to put their SL credit toward an associate at Charter Oak. No worries, SL credit goes to Charter Oak easy-peasy. BUT, I found a handful of schools that accept Alternative Credit Project credit but NOT credit from the provider directly (SL, Sophia, etc). In other words, they can earn SL credit toward a bachelor's degree at one of our state colleges as long as it appears on an ACE transcript as an Alternative Credit Project course! They don't accept SL credit. :willynilly:
All that to say this- if you complete ANY course through Straighterline, Sophia, edX, Pearson, or Saylor, be sure to get TWO ENTRIES on your ACE transcript. The first for the provider, and the second for Alternative Credit Project. I did this, they both have both, and we are happy campers!
:hurray:
