My wife is entertaining the idea of attending UMPI after seeing how the courses are laid out and what would be expected of her. She originally attended community college after high school and went throug a 3 semester medical office assistant program that clocked in at 1,272.5 hours along with taking a number of other courses. In 2018/19 she decided to go back and take 3 more classes which was enough to grant her an Associate of Applied Science in Health Science.
She's particularly interested in the Bachelor of Applied Science at UMPI with a minor in Management or MIS. She still works in the health industry as a supervisor for a medical insurance company and needs her bachelors to move up further. Any thoughts on how her associates might transfer into UMPI?
I've attached a portion of her transcript but not all 3 pages for confidentiality reasons.

Most likely she will be placed in the BLS with Management Minor as the BAS isn't available on YourPace. In the past, a few people were accepted into the BAS, but that seems to have ended. I was denied entry with my AAS even though I had enough technical credit as well. She will probably get credit for everything, but it won't all apply to her degree. You can transfer 300 credits to UMPI but only 90 count towards the 120 credits required for their degrees. I transferred 190+ credits to UMPI. She should review the GEC requirements and see what she has completed and what she hasn't completed, she should go complete on Sophia right now. She still needs to meet the science, foreign language, art history, economics, US history, and American government requirements. Econ is needed for business majors so if she wants to get the BABA then shell need macro and micro econ.

Click "transfer courses...", then you can select UMPI, choose the starting letter of her school, click on the school name, and then click on "show all subjects". It should bring up a list for all of the subjects that will transfer, what their equivalents are, and which Gen Ed courses (if any) they fulfill. If it's not listed, it doesn't mean that they won't take it, they just may not have come across it before.

@OP, you should have her apply and get everything evaluated. Your advisor will get back to you with your options, you may bring this up to them that you'd like to continue from the AAS to a BAS if possible, but you should also be open to having the BLS as it pretty much is the same thing, the degrees differ slightly in the course requirements. At the most, the AAS should transfer 60 credits, if she has other credits to bring over, she can try too, or she can take some ACE credit from whichever provider you prefer.

This seems pretty easy to figure out, since there are only a few GEC courses, and the rest would be Free Electives:
EN110: Composition I >> 1A, 1D
SP110: Fundamentals of Public Speaking >> 1C
PY101: General Psychology >> 2A, 2B
MA153: Intro to Statistics >> 3A, 3B
HU210: Religion of World >> 5A
Everything else is Free Electives. So you just need to go to the wiki to look up how to get the rest of the GEC credits (normally through Sophia), and then do a month at SDC for American Govt and maybe 1 other course if you want, and then you're done.

Gotcha, thank you. I thought I had read somewhere that transfering in an associates to UMPI automatically fulfilled your GEC requirements but it must have been another school.

Transferring with an associate degree waives the high school diploma requirement. GEC is only waived if you're completing a second bachelor's degree.
