Yes, it's similar to the common dominant Influenza A and B strains that change each year in every country. Vaccination may help but won't stop the other variants. I've not had a flu shot since the Avian Flu shot was available as it's hard to play catch up to each and every flu season strain... I think the basic steps of frequent hand washing, social distancing, wearing a mask, etc should be mandatory in packed public places or where there is a large crowd of people.

Basically, he said things, he touched a woman's face, and that's a lot less than Biden has done over the years.  In some cultures, it is custom to greet people with a kiss, are we going to cancel cultures too?

Except in New York State we do NOT go around kissing people. There's more to the story than he simply touched a woman's face. Don't downplay it and give him a pass. This isn't about Biden. This is about Cuomo. I live in NY and well up to speed on what Cuomo has done. He's had 3 women publicly accuse him of sexual harassment. This isn't a one time oops I made a mistake issue. This is a power issue. Unfortunately, it's common with men in power. He's been in power pretty much his entire life because of who his father was.

I should have clarified - the mainstream media is giving him that pass, not everybody.  You can do like CA and try to recall him if that's a thing in NY.  Newsom may go that way.

There are several politicians and groups calling for him to resign. Unfortunately, he's such a powerhouse in the party. The democratic party of NYC rules the entire state. NYC is what really determines the laws in the entire state and they just don't work everywhere. Most of the state is pretty rural and the polar opposite of NYC. There's definitely a massive battle in the state right now. I voted for him and wish he would resign. He's had too many problems the last year. He needs to check his ego and step down.

Scientists in Oregon have spotted a homegrown version of a fast-spreading variant of the coronavirus that first surfaced in Britain — but now it's combined with a mutation that may make the variant less susceptible to vaccines.

The variant originally identified in Britain, called B.1.1.7, has been spreading rapidly across the United States, and accounts for at least 2,500 cases in 46 states. This form of the virus is both more contagious and more deadly than the original version, and it is expected to account for most U.S. infections in a few weeks.

The new version that surfaced in Oregon has the same backbone, but also a mutation — E484K, or “Eek” — seen in variants of the virus circulating in South Africa, Brazil and New York City.

Lab studies and clinical trials in South Africa indicate that the Eek mutation renders the current vaccines less effective by blunting the body’s immune response. (The vaccines still work, but the findings are worrying enough that Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna have begun testing new versions of their vaccines designed to defeat the variant found in South Africa.)
